Job Description Position Summary: This position performs various plant maintenance duties and preventative maintenance tasks as defined to ensure manufacturing equipment remains operational and that the facility is in working condition. • Repairs, installs, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications., • Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the organization’s electronic systems., • Trouble shoot down to failed components using schematics and various electronic equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzer, etc., • Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs., • Ensures local, state, and national electrical codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout electrical systems., • Manages and installs cables and wiring, splicing as needed., • Creates or adapts parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of various electronics., • Assembles/Build electronic test fixtures and builds test cables as required., • Performs safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions., • Reports potentially dangerous electrical equipment to supervisor and takes steps to resolve the issue., • Instruct employees regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronic equipment and components., • Develops and maintains records related to electronic and electrical equipment., • Performs other related duties as assigned., • Identify and resolve issues with electronic equipment, including printed circuit boards (PCBs), power supplies, and various electronic components., • Conduct routine and advance testing of electronic systems and components to ensure proper functionality, including in circuit and out of coarcting testing., • Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on electronic equipment., • Maintain logs and records for related equipment for departmental guidelines., • Perform other related duties as assigned., • Performs advanced tasks in the repair, maintenance, design of electronic systems and devices., • Various troubleshooting on vacuum plating equipment, • Calibrating and testing electronic instruments and equipment., • Ensure that vacuum pumps are operational, • Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on electronic equipment Experience with Hydraulics preferred, • Rebuilding vacuum pumps, • ebuilding Cryo pumps, • Modify equipment as needed, to meet production requirements., • May supervise or train other technicians., • Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities • Thorough knowledge of electronics principles, design, troubleshooting, repair, and testing procedures., • Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams., • Electrical equipment calibration, • Proficient in using hand and power tools, including soldering tools., • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills., • Detail oriented and organized., • Familiar with RF equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc., • Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Proficient in MS Office Suite or related software., • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods., • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50lbs., • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required., • Ability to safely climb, descend, and work from ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms at verifying heights., • Ability to work in varying environment conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings, temperature variations, and mechanical noise., • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, machine controls, and measuring instruments., • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Support weekend facility checks (alternating).Company DescriptionMtron designs and manufactures high-performance, highly reliable RF components for demanding applications in space, avionics, aerospace, defense, and more.
