Job Description Job Title: Lathe Machinist ($30/hr) Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining processes, technical skills in CNC, and mechanical knowledge will drive efficiency and excellence in our production line. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines using detailed blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications., • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical documents to produce precise parts., • Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to optimize performance and minimize downtime., • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards., • Follow safety protocols including proper use of hand tools, forklift operation, and materials handling procedures within the manufacturing facility., • Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing or factory environment., • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and CAM software; experience with Fanuc controls is highly preferred., • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications accurately., • Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in machining processes including CNC milling machines, stamping presses, press brake machines, and fabrication tools., • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools., • Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; warehouse experience is a plus. Work Environment CNC machine shop environment with around 50 employees, fostering a smaller work environment. First shift hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, with opportunities for overtime including Saturdays from 7am to noon. The dress code is casual with jeans, T-shirt, and steel-toed shoes. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
