Job DescriptionSalary: $18-$19 based on experience Forklift Operator Location: Charlotte, NC Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour (Based on experience and knowledge) Role Overview: As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate movement, storage, and organization of a wide range of packaging products, including handheld containers, bulk bins, custom dunnage, pallets, and top caps. Your attention to operational efficiency will help ensure production targets and shipping schedules are consistently met. You will be expected to uphold the highest standards of product quality, carefully handling all materials to prevent damage and performing visual inspections to verify the condition of outgoing and stored goods. A key aspect of your role will be maintaining a safe work environment by rigorously following company policies, OSHA guidelines, and best practices for powered industrial truck operation. You will conduct daily equipment inspections, promptly report issues, and participate in ongoing safety training. Efficient communication and teamwork are essential, as you will coordinate closely with the warehouse, production, and shipping departments to support seamless workflow and resolve potential bottlenecks. Core Responsibilities: Your primary duty is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials within our facility. Responsibilities include: Material Handling & Equipment Operation: • Safely operate sit-down forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move large pallets of reusable packaging, bulk containers, and raw materials., • Load and unload trucks with precision, ensuring that custom packaging solutions and dunnage are not damaged during transit., • Stack and store products in designated high-bay areas, adhering to strict organization and stability guidelines. Order Fulfillment & Quality Control: • Pull orders accurately for shipment to major OEM and Tier-1 automotive suppliers, verifying product types and quantities against shipping manifests., • Inspect reusable packaging products (totes, pallets, top caps) for defects or damage before shipment to ensure quality standards are met., • Utilize RF scanners to track inventory movement, ensuring real-time accuracy in our Warehouse Management System. Safety & Stewardship: • Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations, particularly for handling heavy, durable plastic goods., • Participate in maintaining a clean, hazard-free workspace, including removing debris and organizing empty pallets., • Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs immediately. Performance Expectations: • Maintain Safety: Operate with zero safety incidents or product damage., • Drive Efficiency: Meet daily loading and unloading targets to maintain production and shipping schedules., • Ensure Accuracy: Achieve high accuracy rates in order picking to prevent shipping errors., • Collaborate: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve workflow bottlenecks. Qualifications & Skills: • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment., • Technical Skills: Proficiency with RF scanning tools and experience loading/unloading trailers., • Physical Ability: Ability to sit, stand, and drive a forklift for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted when necessary., • Attention to Detail: Ability to distinguish between different product specifications (e.g., specific dunnage types or container sizes)., • Language: Ability to read and interpret English safety signs, work instructions, and shipping documents. Preferred: • Experience handling plastic products, pallets, or bulk bins., • Familiarity with automotive supply chain standards., • High school diploma or GED.
