Job DescriptionDescription: Job description California Premier Pain Clinics is looking for a part-time or full-time Medical Assistant to join our medical office. • Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work., • Knowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practices, • Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care, • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care, • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment, • Skill in maintaining records and recording test results, • Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance, • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public, • Ability to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentiality, • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures, • Ability to communicate clearly, • Knowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiology, • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information, • Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment, • Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner, • Ability to speak clearly and concisely, • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, coworkers and the publicResponsibilities, • This position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management, • May perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations, • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, • Take patient vital signs, • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, • Give injections, apply splints and dressings, • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization, • Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals, • Screen telephone calls for referral to physician or provider, • Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail, • Provide general information on departmental policies and, • In the spirit of teamwork, employees are expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested.
