Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Monitor the work of the superintendents to ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the construction documents, budget, and schedule, • Ensure that the Short Interval Construction schedule is properly utilized to control job costs, • Establish a good relationship with the general contractor, • Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required, • Assist Project Managers in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc., • Ensure with superintendents that all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, work rules, etc, • Document all violations, notify Project Management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required, • Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, scope, and contract, • Attend job scheduling and coordination meetings as required to observe and monitor and detect any potential problems that may be developing, • Monitor and document the progress of the job as required, • Direct or implement solutions to ensure the project is being constructed within budget, • Support superintendents with current and accurate information as required, • Assist superintendents in establishing an action plan for maximizing the quantity and quality of work performed, • Track the materials to know which materials are on-site, on order, or back-ordered, • Determine an action plan for any critical items which are on back-order, • Ensure job site housekeeping is in compliance with contract requirements, • Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost and reports to Supervisor Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes as needed, • Assist with electrical system installation, troubleshooting and repair as needed Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards, • Monitor and resolve matters relating to work procedures, complaints, damages, accidents, and delays, • Confer with Superintendent and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors to resolve problems and coordinate activities, • Ensure all company safety measures and regulations are followed and enforce the use of safety equipment when required, • Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews, • Participate in the review and processing of contracts for construction with general contractors with emphasis on work scope, • Participate in project turnover, project startup, and project percent complete meetings, • Participate in the preparation of the project closeout package and turnover with the general contractor, • Participate in the Tri-City close-out meeting Other Duties as Assigned: Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Experience and Education: Required: • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc, • Working knowledge of National Electrical Codes, • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level, • Four (4) years Engineering Degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, • Active Florida Journeyman or Master Electrician License, • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety, • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc, • Expert working knowledge of National Electrical Codes, • Must have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety background, • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.), • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level, • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license in good standing to meet the company's driving requirements, • High School Diploma or GED Preferred: • Bilingual, • Four plus (4+) years as a commercial electrician, • Intermediate experience with AccuBid, Bluebeam, Autodesk, Raken, and Plangrid, • OSHA 30 Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. • Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. In addition, the employee may occasionally be exposed to various extreme conditions at different work locations., • Employees will be exposed to moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, and light foot traffic)., • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is occasionally active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day., • Must be able to move objects that weigh 25 pounds., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus., • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary but equate to 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Job Description • Execution of field work involved in asbestos abatement projects while under direct or indirect supervision., • Direct and supervise project-assigned labor forces including the following job classification: foremen, equipment operators, hazardous waste technicians, and emergency response crews etc. to maintain competent completion of their duties., • Correct completion of all job-specific, employee-related MER paperwork including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver’s Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms., • Understand and enforce project’s detailed scope-of-work to optimize strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures., • Under general direction from Logistics Manager, Program/Project Manager and/or Division Manager, forecast and organize the cost-effective utilization of project personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to minimize unneeded project cost resulting in higher profit., • Work safely and ensure that the crew is working safely during all phases of performing the job duties required in the field., • Ability to perform work inside areas of varying dimensions, involving squatting and crawling for possible extended periods., • Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards / labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans., • The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed., • Project work may require out of town travel for two weeks or more., • Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards., • Due to the diversity of both scheduled and non-scheduled projects, physical demands, and environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project., • Work outside year-round in all types of weather., • May work in environments that are extreme in nature like environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours etc., • May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hands, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds or more., • Successful work experience in asbestos, remediation, and general construction., • Remediation training and/or certification preferred., • Experience supervising labor crews., • Proficiency driving box trucks and/or driving pick-up trucks with trailers as needed., • Must be willing and able to work a VARIABLE SCHEDULE, including overtime, night, and weekend hours., • Willing to travel., • MUST have a VALID DL with clean driving record, and reliable transportation to/from work.
