Job Description Summary The Lead Supervisor/DOM is responsible for the overall operation and regulatory compliance of the PEA-Wayman Education, LLC Repair Station, conducted under 14 CFR Part 145. The position shares the responsibility with the Chief/lead inspector as the primary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and ensures all work performed complies with applicable FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 135 (9 or less), and 145. The Lead Supervisor/DOM must maintain an adequately trained, qualified, and supervised staff and ensure the quality and airworthiness of all work performed on civil aircraft articles. This position is responsible for maintaining aircrafts in an airworthy manner to meet flight training needs. Essential Functions • Ensure all repair station operations are conducted in compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 135 (9 or less), 145, and other applicable FAA regulations., • Maintain an adequate and knowledgeable staff to perform, supervise, inspect, and approve maintenance activities., • Facilitate proper tooling, housing, and facility maintenance., • Ensure sufficient staffing with necessary training and experience to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations., • Determine and document the qualifications of non-certificated employees based on training, experience, or practical tests., • Provide all necessary tooling, equipment, FAA-approved data, and materials in compliance with FAR 145.109., • Ensure the availability of adequate firefighting equipment at the facility., • Establish and enforce safety standards and precautions., • Develop and maintain training programs for initial and recurrent personnel training., • Establish liaison with customers/operators regarding compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements., • Rent or lease tooling not owned by the repair station as needed., • Develop customer/operator contracts and maintain positive client relationships., • Resolve inter-departmental conflicts as they arise., • Assume responsibilities of the Lead Supervisor or Lead Inspector when absent., • Delegate authority to qualified personnel for return-to-service authorization in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 and 43., • Maintain responsibility for duties even when delegated., • Manage and revise company manuals upon FAA approval., • Enforce a Drug & Alcohol-free workplace in compliance with regulatory requirements., • Review and amend purchase orders as necessary, ensuring the use of carrier-specified technical data., • Strong leadership and management skills., • Deep understanding of FAA regulations, especially 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 135, and 145., • Ability to develop and maintain effective training and quality control programs., • Proficient in inspecting and using aviation maintenance tools, aids, and equipment., • Strong conflict resolution and decision-making abilities., • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written., • Strong organizational and documentation skills., • Frequently required to stand, walk, and climb ladders or steps to access aircraft and equipment., • Must be able to lift, carry, and move tools, equipment, and aircraft parts weighing up to 50 pounds., • Required to perform manual tasks that involve fine motor skills such as handling small parts and tools., • Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights safely., • Exposure to varying environmental conditions including noise, fumes, oils, and temperature extremes., • Must have sufficient vision and hearing to perform inspection and maintenance tasks effectively and safely., • Full-Time, Exempt, • Standard workweek is Monday through Friday averaging 40 hours per week. $95,000-$105,000 Required Education and Experience • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English., • Thorough familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 and related inspection techniques and tools., • Proficiency in the use of inspection equipment and visual aids., • Working knowledge of and experience with the Repair Station Manual, Training Manual, and Quality Manual, including maintaining current revisions., • Enrollment in the Repair Station's Drug and Alcohol program., • At least 5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, including 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
