Job Description Job Title: BIM Specialist Job Description The BIM Specialist is a full-time role responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of BIM standards and processes across planning, architecture, and design. This position partners closely with firm leadership to modernize BIM content, tools, and workflows, while providing hands-on support and training to teams with varying levels of experience. The BIM Specialist combines strategic leadership with detailed content creation to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of building information modeling and documentation practices. Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve BIM content to support planning, architecture, and design projects., • Manage a cohesive BIM approach across all offices, ensuring consistency in standards, templates, and workflows., • Organize, curate, and maintain the Unifi/content catalog library to keep BIM assets current and easily accessible., • Research, develop, and implement Dynamo or other scripts to automate repetitive tasks, including training staff in their use and encouraging adoption., • Support and manage large-scale BIM content initiatives, such as medical equipment libraries, comprehensive warehouses, standard detail libraries, and healthcare planning typical room type warehouses., • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigning BIM content development tasks to staff with available capacity, and manage those assignments to ensure timely completion., • Strategize and oversee BIM model setup during the project initiation phase to establish robust foundations for project delivery., • Harvest and archive completed Revit projects and newly created Revit content to build and maintain a reusable asset library., • Respond to staff requests for Revit assistance within two hours during normal business hours, providing timely and practical support., • Evaluate staff Revit capabilities and design training sessions to raise technical proficiency across the firm., • Research BIM products and related technologies to keep the firm at the forefront of new BIM and documentation tools., • Support sustainability goals by assisting with energy modeling and data harvesting through BIM tools and workflows., • Help identify, harvest, and implement the growing list of ACC tools available to the firm to enhance project delivery and collaboration., • Coordinate with the Technical Director to identify and address quality issues related to BIM templates, assets, and standards. Essential Skills • Experience in architectural design, with a strong understanding of planning, design, and documentation processes., • Expert-level proficiency in Revit, including model setup, content creation, and troubleshooting., • 2–3 years of experience with BIM responsibilities, including standards development, content management, and project support., • Hands-on experience with building information modeling (BIM) workflows in an architectural setting., • Ability to develop, manage, and organize BIM content libraries and catalogs., • Experience using Dynamo or similar scripting tools to automate tasks within Revit., • Strong drafting and modeling skills, with attention to detail and accuracy., • Ability to train and mentor staff with varying levels of BIM and Revit experience., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives, libraries, and project demands., • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with technical staff, design leaders, and firm leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in healthcare-related architectural design or familiarity with healthcare planning standards is beneficial., • Comfort working in a highly collaborative environment with open communication and shared project ownership., • Interest in sustainability, energy modeling, and data-driven design practices., • Experience researching and evaluating new BIM tools, documentation technologies, and ACC platforms., • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive project environment., • Enthusiasm for modern design and innovative approaches to architecture and interior design., • Ability to work effectively with and learn from recognized architecture and interior design leaders in the community. Work Environment The firm offers a highly collaborative culture that promotes inclusion and shared ownership of projects across all experience levels. The work environment is deadline-intensive, with most projects lasting between 6 and 18 months, requiring strong organization and responsiveness. The physical office features an open layout with no private offices; everyone, including leadership, sits in an open-plan space designed to encourage teamwork and the sharing of ideas. Desks and storage are easily reconfigurable to support flexible teaming, and designated areas are available for private calls when needed. The dress code is business casual. The Philadelphia headquarters houses approximately 70–80 team members, with additional offices in New York City and Orlando and plans for future expansion. The firm operates on the cutting edge of modern design, particularly in the healthcare space, and provides opportunities to work closely with leading architecture and interior design professionals. The role is fully remote until further notice, with the option to remain remote, work in a hybrid arrangement, or work full-time in the office in the future. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $55.00/hr.
