Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Paid time off Key Responsibilities Medical Oversight • Supervise the delivery of nursing care to patients undergoing detoxification and residential treatment, • Ensure appropriate clinical interventions are implemented in accordance with individualized care plans, • Respond to and manage medical emergencies and high-acuity cases as needed, • Support nursing staff in medication administration, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment), • Promote compliance with infection control, patient safety, and detox protocols, • Ensure thorough shift-to-shift communication and continuity of care through handoff reportingLeadership and Staff Support, • Serve as the clinical lead for nursing staff during assigned shifts, • Provide mentorship, coaching, and real-time problem-solving for RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and technicians, • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff, • Support the Director of Nursing with scheduling, coverage coordination, and performance feedback, • Promote a respectful, team-oriented work culture focused on accountability and quality careCollaboration and Teamwork, • Work closely with physicians, behavioral health clinicians, case managers, and administrative staff, • Participate in daily treatment planning meetings and clinical rounds, • Help coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and level-of-care transitions, • Ensure timely communication with families, referral sources, and other care partners as neededDocumentation and Compliance, • Ensure nursing documentation is accurate, timely, and consistent with EMR and facility guidelines, • Support compliance with California Department of Health, Joint Commission, and CARF regulations, • Participate in medication counts, chart audits, and documentation reviews, • Help reinforce adherence to facility policies and clinical proceduresProfessional Development, • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in addiction nursing and detoxification care, • Attend in-service trainings and continuing education relevant to SUD treatment and leadership, • Provide mentorship to peers and support opportunities for learning on the unitQuality Improvement, • Contribute to safety rounds, incident reviews, and facility-wide quality initiatives, • Promote strategies to improve workflow efficiency, reduce clinical risks, and enhance outcomes Education • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredLicensure & Certification, • Valid RN license in the State of California, • BLS/CPR certification (current); ACLS preferred, • Certification in addiction nursing (CARN or CARN-AP) preferred or willingness to obtainExperience, • Minimum 2 - 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role, • Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use, or detox settings is strongly preferred, • Knowledge of medication-assisted detox protocols and trauma-informed care principlesSkills, • Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in dynamic, high-acuity environments, • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills, • Organizational ability to manage shift-based tasks and oversee staff, • Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation standards, • Familiarity with Office 360 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)Work Environment, • On-site at a licensed SUD treatment facility offering detox and inpatient services, • Fast-paced clinical setting with diverse patient needs and acuity levels, • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on staffing needsPhysical Requirements, • Ability to stand, walk, and respond rapidly during clinical emergencies, • Capable of lifting or assisting patients and managing physical tasks during care delivery, • Comfortable working in emotionally intense or high-stress situationsBenefits, • Competitive salary commensurate with experience, • Health insurance, • 401k, • PTO, • A mission-driven, collaborative, and inclusive work cultureThis position offers the opportunity to provide direct leadership in patient care while supporting a skilled and compassionate nursing team.
