Job DescriptionDescription: The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is accountable for overseeing and directing all pharmacy operations at the designated location, ensuring that the pharmacy's objectives are consistently and successfully met. The PIC formulates strategies for future business growth, leads the pharmacy's management team, and guarantees the financial stability of the pharmacy. Job Type: Exempt, Full-Time, 40 hour per week, Mon - Fri with on-call rotations. Location: In-Pharmacy at our Cedar Rapids office location. Requirements: • B.S. or Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required or Registered pharmacist license if foreign graduate, • Active registered pharmacy license in the state of Iowa and additional states as required, • without restrictions, • Minimum 5 years recent clinical pharmacy experience preferred, • Two years of recent clinical pharmacy experience preferred, • Thorough knowledge of infusion therapies preferred, • Recent inventory management experience preferred, • Accuracy in mathematical calculations including pharmacokinetic dosing preferred, • Knowledge of CPR+ software preferred Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to: • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) with full responsibility for pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and staff oversight at the assigned location, • Ensure safe, accurate dispensing of medications and provide clinical and operational support as needed, • Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, accreditation standards, and PROMPTCARE policies and procedures, • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and on-call coverage to meet hours of operation and patient care needs, • Lead quality and safety initiatives, including participation in the Quality Improvement (QI) program, occurrence reporting, and corrective actions, • Oversee survey readiness, inspections, and accreditation activities as PIC of record, • Partner with leadership to establish pharmacy goals aligned with organizational strategy and growth, • Assist with budgeting, inventory control, purchasing, and medication management processes, • Ensure patients are assigned to appropriate care teams and receive required clinical monitoring, • Lead hiring support, onboarding, training, competency assessment, and ongoing development of pharmacy staff, • Foster strong collaboration with clinical, operations, billing, and leadership teams, • Complete required pharmacy reporting, including inventory, expirations, adherence, and error tracking, • Ensure compliance with Prescription Monitoring Program requirements, • Promote a culture of accountability, patient safety, and continuous improvement, • Perform other duties consistent with the Pharmacist-in-Charge role Physical Demands The physical requirements listed here indicate what an employee must meet to effectively perform this role's essential functions.
