American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/22/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Position is in the PACU unit of a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet teaching hospital, • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed, • No weekend or on-call requirements, • Care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric post-surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant, • Unit features 38 recovery bays with an average daily census of 70-90 patients, • Patient Care Techs and a dedicated transport team support the unit, • Charting is performed using EPIC; EPIC experience required, • Floating may be required within scope to PreOp or PACU units only, • Provide recovery care for a wide variety of acute post-operative patients including those with artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive drug infusions, • No recovery of open heart surgeries or liver transplants in this unit, • Permanent former employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler, • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13 week contract; no time off permitted during the first week of the assignment, • Navy blue scrubs are required, • Pre-start modules must be completed prior to orientation, • Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing if required, • Parking is available for a fee, • All standard travelers can work an 18-month period with a subsequent 3-month break\n \n Requirements\n, • Active MO or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience including critical care and Phase I PACU, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Must have experience in Level I Trauma Center and inpatient setting, • Skills required: dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, ventilator care, • Experience with post-surgical care for a diverse caseload, • EPIC EMR experience required, • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted, • First-time travelers are accepted\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
