Job Description Welder – Structural Steel & Tank Fabrication Pay: $18–$23 per hour (based on experience) Shift: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Hours: Guaranteed 40 hours per week Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our fabrication team for structural steel welding and tank fabrication in an industrial environment. This role focuses primarily on flux core welding, with additional work using stick welding and occasional MIG welding. The ideal candidate can read blueprints, produce high-quality welds without grinding during testing, and work efficiently on a consistent daytime schedule. Responsibilities • Perform structural steel welding with approximately:, • 75% flux core welding, • 25% stick welding using 7018 and 7024 electrodes, • Occasional MIG welding as needed, • Support tank fabrication and structural steel fabrication, including fitting, welding, and assembly, • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings, including welding symbols and dimensions, • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment for flux core, stick, and MIG processes, • Produce clean, quality welds without grinding during weld testing, per production requirements, • Use an acetylene torch to cut holes in steel plate and perform pipe-to-plate welding, • Weld pipe to sheet metal and plate according to specifications, • Follow all safety procedures in an industrial, open-air, non-climate-controlled environment, • Maintain a clean and organized work area, • Three (3) T-joint welds:, • One 7018, • One 7024, • One flux core, • One torch-cut hole with pipe-to-plate weld, • No grinding allowedRequired Skills & Qualifications, • Proven experience with flux core welding on structural steel, • Proficiency in stick welding (7018 and 7024), • Experience with structural steel fabrication, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings, • Experience using an acetylene torch, • Ability to weld pipe to sheet metal and plate, • Capability to pass all required weld tests, • Dependable attendance and reliability for a full-time schedulePreferred / Additional Qualifications, • Tank fabrication experience (highly valued and may increase pay), • Experience with MIG welding, • Strong layout and fit-up skills, • High attention to detail and commitment to weld quality, • Ability to work well with a team in a production environmentWhy Work Here?, • Strong long-term career opportunity with a highly profitable operation, • Generous PTO program that grows with tenure:, • 2 weeks after 1 year, • Additional days added after 6 years, • 3 weeks by 10 years, • 4 weeks by 15+ years, • 9 paid holidays once permanent, • Company incentive plan after 1 year (earn an additional 15–20% of annual pay based on plant profitability) This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
