Job DescriptionSalary: $18.91 - $26.36 DEFINITION: Under the direct supervision of the Native Workforce Development Program Director, this position provides direct services to program participants. Responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, counseling, interviews, eligibility determination, career and employment planning, case management, customer monitoring, and outreach activities. The role supports program objectives through customer engagement, service delivery, and collaboration with community partners. Duties and Responsibilities: • Actively recruit Native American, Native Alaskan, and Native Hawaiian customers within the service delivery area., • Review and explain the intake process and program eligibility requirements to applicants and the public., • Schedule customer appointments and collect intake packets, test results, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Request and verify additional information to document eligibility; consult with supervisor as needed., • Conduct in-depth interviews to assess skills, work history, education, career goals, and job readiness., • Research and document customers prior program participation, communicating limitations or previous outcomes to supervisor., • Prepare and maintain applicant files in compliance with program standards., • Provide job search training, job readiness skills, workplace essentials, and re-employment services in individual and group settings., • Identify and develop worksites; negotiate training contracts and agreements., • Conduct outreach to employers, educational institutions, tribal agencies, and community resources to expand opportunities for customers., • Utilize labor market information and assessment tools to guide customer decision-making., • Monitor caseloads, enrollment, and worksites to ensure compliance with program goals and regulations., • Provide program orientation and technical assistance to customers and worksites., • Update and maintain customer records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with policies., • Prepare closed files for storage according to department standards., • Maintain program confidentiality, security of equipment, and accurate inventory of supplies., • Support staff and administration with correspondence, reports, forms, data entry, and other program activities., • Maintain accurate data in electronic funding agency databases., • Provide backup support to team members during peak periods or staff shortages., • Attend required meetings, trainings, workshops, and conferences. Required Competencies: • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, social, and educational backgrounds., • Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English; ability to interpret policies and technical instructions., • Knowledge of interviewing, counseling techniques, and labor market conditions., • Understanding of workforce development services, resources, and referral processes., • Ability to deliver training in group and individual settings., • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications; accurate typing skills (45 WPM minimum)., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity., • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement., • Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain records, and make public presentations., • Commitment to high-quality customer service and teamwork. Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with Native American culture, tribal governance, and community-based program delivery., • Experience using workforce data systems (e.g., DOL systems, client case management platforms)., • Knowledge of Nevadas tribal landscape and socioeconomic conditions., • Strong understanding of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and employment/training services., • Experience working with tribal communities or Indigenous populations. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of experience in employment, training, or related fields; OR a college degree in Education, Business Administration, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)., • Knowledge of Native American communities, cultural dynamics, and workforce needs., • Computer literacy and accurate typing speed of 45 WPM., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Willingness to travel, including overnight trips as required., • Valid Nevada Drivers License, reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance coverage. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: • This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and filing systems., • May be required to travel frequently to tribal communities throughout Nevada, including overnight stays and occasional evening or weekend meetings to attend community events, job fairs, or training sessions, • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and participate in community outreach events indoors and outdoors., • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends on occasion, depending on program activities or special events.
