Job Title: Maintenance Manager Salary: $110k - $130k Shift: TBD Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D, PSL Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining equipment, infrastructure, buildings, and grounds, including supervising a team of maintenance technicians, developing, and executing a maintenance strategy that promotes efficient optimal operations. Provides operational support and implements company safety strategies ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Plan and schedule for maintenance activities and all predictive, preventative and breakdown maintenance, • Manage and maintain site asset base, including building and grounds, utility infrastructure, process and packaging systems, and support areas., • Prioritize and assign tasks so the team’s resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met., • Responsible for monitoring, assigning, and tracking and updating work orders in a timely manner., • Ensure maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and work closely with Production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs., • Work closely with the production group to coordinate work. Continually look for avenues to improve communication between the production and maintenance groups., • Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc., • Be an active member of the safety committee and actively promote all plant safety, • Assess future repair needs of equipment and coordinates repairs., • Responsible for maintaining, updating and improving the plant maintenance system, creating PM tasks, entering new assets, and maintaining accurate equipment BOMs., • Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained. Possess a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to transmit that sense of urgency to the maintenance technicians in a constructive fashion., • Risk Assessment & Root Cause Analysis, • Evaluate the preventative maintenance program for accuracy and validity by partnering with department leads, OEM manufacturers, consulting equipment manuals, and communicating with operations partners to ensure the equipment is being maintained at a satisfactory level and all aspects of equipment are being serviced at the appropriate intervals., • Keep records of repeat failures and take action to enhance and optimize the preventative maintenance program when trends are noticed or deficiencies in proactive/preventative work start to impact operational run times or efficiencies., • Optimize and update preventative maintenance plans and strategies when appropriate., • Assist with Project management with line extensions or new build outs, • Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory., • Develop and/or maintain Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, 3rd party contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc., • Recruit, manage, train, develop and support/coach a team of technicians., • Promote a productive, quality of work/life environment., • Develop and implement opportunities to further develop and expand technician skills/knowledge., • Provide and document training., • Provide hands-on support as required., • Tactically implement company safety strategies, safe work practices/programs for food safety, process safety, environmental safety, and personnel safety., • Ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP for food safety., • Promote efficient manufacturing by working as a key member and functioning as a critical participant in cross-functional teams SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for overseeing all Maintenance Technicians. Continuous Training of Maintenance Technicians to improve their skill level. Working with other management to ensure maintenance needs of all departments are being met. Responsible for scheduling all tasks, work orders and PM work to the Maintenance Technician. Participating in weekly meetings to discuss issues, solutions and update management of status of projects. Other supervisory duties may be assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Must be proficient in using computer applications associated with processing machinery, spreadsheets, e-mail and other related systems. The following skills are preferred but not required: welding, cutting, fabrication, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, pneumatic and hydraulic skills. Basic electrical is also preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as production reports, safety rules, procedure manuals and operating and technical instructions. Ability to write clearly on all documentation. Must be able to work effectively in a multitasking work environment and prioritize workload. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization. KRUGER FOODS REQUIRED TRAINING: New Employee Orientation, Microsoft Word and Excel, HACCP, GMP, SQF and Safety training, Supervisor training; Monthly supervisor/manager meetings. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or (GED) is required. Technical or vocational degree in related fields and food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. 5-8 years of related food manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee must have the ability to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their fingers, stand, walk and reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision. The employee needs to be able to work in an environment where there are machines, noise and moving parts. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires working near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to varying degrees of heat and/or cold around 38 to 85 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There is regular forklift traffic in the production area. FOOD SAFETY: As an employee of Kruger Foods, Inc. the Maintenance Manager will serve on the SQF 2000 safety committee and food safety committee. The Maintenance Manager must have a good understanding of HACCP, GMP, and SQF 2000 and demonstrate their support of the SQF program, its implementation, maintenance, and on-going improvement. Food Safety training will be provided. Reports on any food safety or quality concern to the QA Manager. WORKPLACE SAFETY: Safety is EVERYONE’s responsibility at Kruger Foods, Inc.
