This role plays a key part in supporting the organization's revenue cycle and ensuring timely reimbursements. Qualifications: • A high school diploma required. Responsibilities include: • Ensures accuracy and completeness of patient encounter forms to submit claims; takes necessary actions to correct encounter forms as needed by contacting the provider and/or appropriate party., • Collaborates with providers or other appropriate parties to receive all information needed to complete the billing process., • Ensures FIGHT's billing procedures are conducted to ensure accuracy and timely billing; conducts quality assurance measures as appropriate., • Conducts all billing activities for managed care, commercial insurance Medicare and Medicaid, including verifying insurance, processing patient claims for services rendered, processing data batches, transmitting/submitting documents to insurance companies, etc., • Posts health service charges and payments from health center patients, Medicaid, Medical and other health insurance carriers daily., • Resolves patient inquiries and issues including those resulting from incorrect or incomplete information., • Builds and maintains relationships with insurance companies as needed; contacts them as needed to resolve insurance issues and/or expedite claims processing., • Documents all activities related to billing (detailed actions taken to resolve outstanding claim and account issues, charge information, etc.) appropriately in the Electronic Medical Record within the established timeframe set forth by FIGHT policy., • Maintains patient demographic information and data collection systems, including all billing/collection reports while remaining in accordance with payer and company policy guidelines., • Recognizes, interprets and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in accounts receivable and system files and initiates appropriate corrective methods; works to increase error resolution/denial management., • Reviews claims data to ensure that assigned codes meet required legal and insurance rules and that required signatures and authorizations are in place prior to submission., • Remains knowledgeable of new coding rules as codes change for purposes of accurate billing., • Reviews, evaluates and re-files appeals for denied and unpaid claims as appropriate., • Reviews coding information about diagnosis on charge and procedures performed to produce claims to insurance companies, ensuring that codes tally with provider's diagnosis., • Prepares billing adjustment and/or rebilling and filing appeals as necessary., • Processes and distributes billing rejection notices in compliance with clinic policies., • Prepares, composes, updates, monitors and edits internal and external billing/accounts receivable reports, records and files., • Maintains compliance with all FIGHT policies and procedures. Job Description POSITION: Police Assisted Diversion (PAD) Case Manager DEPARTMENT: Prevention and Diversion REPORTS TO: Director of Outreach Services PROGRAM SUMMARY One Day at a Time (ODAAT) operates a Police Assisted Diversion (PAD) program for ROC North, covering Northwest Philadelphia. PAD is a program offered to individuals who are stopped for a variety of criminal offenses and social referrals. Eligible criminal offenses include; non-violent drug, prostitution and retail theft offenses within the designated districts and during program operating hours, 8am-11pm. The program works to divert individuals away from the criminal justice system and towards supportive, peer-based social services that are customized to the participants' needs. PAD is a collaboration between police officers, service providers and community residents that utilizes a health-centered approach to law enforcement. PAD at ODAAT works with engaged individuals to address issues such as access to basic needs, access to treatment services, appropriate medical care and the development and achievement of short and long-term goals. PAD services are voluntary, free to the individual and may continue for as long as the participant decides to remain engaged in program services. The PAD team collaborates with the individual to provide a comprehensive service plan for the individual geared to reduce the risk of criminal activity.
