Job Description As a valued member of our team, the Chipper is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of power and hand tools used to chip off the built-in concrete that adheres to our truck mounted mixer drums or plant mixer drums, in full observance of OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations. Benefits: • PPO/HMO Health Insurance, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, • PTO (Paid Time Off), • 401k Retirement Plan, • Overtime pay, • Direct Deposit, • Training Program, • Strong Safety Program, • Employee Assistance Program, • Employee Referral Bonus Pay:, • $21-$22 based on experience Essential Functions:, • Complies with Cal-OSHA and company’s safety requirements at all times, • Wears required personal protective equipment prior to initiating chipping procedures, • Completes confined space entry permit and places it in a conspicuous location on the equipment to be worked on, • Operates air monitoring equipment prior to and during chipping operations as required, • Removes built in solidified concrete from truck mounted or plant mixer drums using handheld jack hammer, chisel and/or other related tools, • Removes scrap concrete from inside the drum and places it in appropriate location to be recycled or disposed otherwise, • Once chipping job is completed, completes permit or other records and submits them to the plant manager, • Partially operate mixer trucks chutes, drum, and other parts as needed., • Follow all safety rules, including the use of personal protective equipment applicable to the performance of his/her job duties., • Conduct all assigned tasks according to procedures unless directed to do otherwise., • Follow directives accurately and efficiently., • Effectively communicate with supervisor and co-workers., • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 10-100 lbs. when needed., • Will climb up and down ladders, stairs and equipment throughout the course of a shift., • Perform other duties as assigned by managementNon-Essential Duties:, • Report safety hazards and incidents to appropriate management., • Able to communicate effectively with other staff., • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. This is a full-time position. Hours of work may vary at plant or other location. Not eligible for remote work. Must be available 6 days a week (Mon-Sat) and to work overtime as job duties demand. Preferred Education and Experience • Related experience preferred but not mandatory., • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred., • 2 to 3 years’ experience within the road construction industry.
