Director of Sales – Boutique Hospitality Location: Orlando, FL Work Model: On-site, Monday–Friday Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $100,000+ base salary + 10% performance bonus The Opportunity A prestigious, boutique hospitality and private club destination in the Orlando area is seeking a Director of Sales to lead relationship-driven sales efforts and help grow engagement across the full guest experience. This is a unique opportunity for a hospitality sales professional who thrives in a smaller, highly personalized environment and wants to move away from the high-volume approach of traditional large-scale hotels. This is not a "fill rooms at all costs" sales position. The focus is on developing meaningful, long-term relationships with guests, members, corporate contacts, groups, and other key partners while identifying opportunities to increase engagement across the property. That may include lodging, golf, dining, retail, events, and other hospitality experiences. The ideal candidate understands that success in a boutique environment comes from knowing the guest, understanding what brings them back, and creating opportunities that strengthen the overall relationship with the property. What You'll Do Relationship Development & Sales • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing guests, members, corporate accounts, groups, prospects, and community partners., • Develop new business through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, partnerships, and relationship building., • Serve as a key point of contact for high-value clients and prospective business., • Identify opportunities to expand relationships beyond lodging by driving engagement across the broader property experience, including golf, dining, retail, and other amenities., • Develop repeat and referral business by creating a highly personalized sales experience., • Maintain an active presence within the local hospitality, business, golf, and community markets., • Represent the property at select networking events, industry events, conferences, and promotional activities. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with the property's business goals, guest experience, and brand positioning., • Manage sales goals, pipeline activity, conversion metrics, and production expectations., • Identify new customer segments, partnerships, and business-development opportunities., • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, demand patterns, and customer trends., • Work closely with leadership on pricing, revenue strategy, forecasting, and business planning., • Contribute to annual budgeting and revenue planning., • Review short- and long-term business outlooks and adjust sales activity based on demand., • Balance revenue growth with the property's commitment to exclusivity, service, and guest experience. Marketing & Brand Partnership • Partner with internal marketing and communications resources to support campaigns that increase awareness and demand., • Provide sales insights that help shape messaging, promotions, digital initiatives, partnerships, and targeted outreach., • Help identify new channels and opportunities for reaching prospective guests and clients., • Support consistent positioning of the property's brand and guest experience across sales and marketing efforts., • Monitor online and digital sales channels where appropriate and identify opportunities to improve visibility and conversion. Guest & Member Engagement • Develop a strong understanding of the property's guests, members, and target clientele., • Create opportunities to deepen engagement throughout the guest journey rather than focusing solely on the initial booking., • Understand the interests and preferences of golf-oriented clientele and use that knowledge to build stronger relationships., • Collaborate across departments to ensure promises made during the sales process translate into an exceptional on-property experience., • Maintain relationships following visits and events to encourage repeat business, referrals, and long-term loyalty. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with property leadership, reservations, front office, food & beverage, golf, events, and other operational teams., • Ensure a seamless transition from the sales process to the guest experience., • Communicate upcoming business, client expectations, and special considerations to appropriate internal teams., • Collaborate with reservations personnel to ensure strong lead management and guest communication., • Maintain awareness of group and event activity while partnering with the appropriate teams responsible for execution. Reporting & Sales Operations • Maintain accurate sales activity, account, pipeline, and client information within CRM and reporting systems., • Track leads from initial inquiry through proposal, conversion, and follow-up., • Monitor sales KPIs, pace, forecasts, and performance against budget., • Prepare regular updates for leadership regarding pipeline health, opportunities, risks, and revenue performance., • Maintain high standards for lead response times, proposal quality, follow-up, and relationship management. What We're Looking For • Approximately 5 years of hospitality sales or related experience preferred, although candidates with fewer years of experience and highly relevant backgrounds will be considered., • Experience within a boutique hotel, independent hotel, private club, golf resort, luxury hospitality property, or similarly high-touch environment is strongly preferred., • Genuine knowledge of or interest in golf and golf culture., • Proven ability to build lasting client relationships and generate business through personalized sales efforts., • Understanding of the difference between selling a high-touch hospitality experience and traditional high-volume hotel sales., • Experience developing new business while maintaining and expanding existing accounts., • Working knowledge of hospitality revenue strategy, forecasting, pricing, budgeting, and sales reporting., • Ability to analyze sales performance and market trends and translate them into action., • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills., • Comfortable working collaboratively across multiple operational departments., • Highly organized, self-directed, professional, and comfortable taking ownership of results., • Ability to succeed in an environment where personal relationships, reputation, discretion, and service are critical. The Right Fit This position is particularly well suited for someone who has worked in boutique or independent hospitality and genuinely enjoys the intimacy of a smaller property. You may currently be with a larger hospitality organization but miss the ability to know your clients, work closely with property leadership, and have a direct impact on the guest experience. You may also be a successful Sales Manager or Senior Sales Manager within the right boutique environment who is ready to step into a Director-level opportunity. This role is not centered on managing a large sales organization. It is a hands-on, relationship-focused position for someone who enjoys personally developing business and building connections. Success will come from understanding what makes guests and members choose the property, developing relationships that last beyond a single stay, and finding thoughtful ways to increase engagement across the entire hospitality experience. Schedule & Travel • On-site in the Orlando, Florida area, Monday through Friday., • Weekend work is rare and generally limited to specific business needs., • Limited travel is expected, typically for occasional industry conferences or events., • Florida-based candidates are strongly preferred., • Relocation assistance or a sign-on incentive may be considered for the right candidate. Compensation • Base salary: $100,000+, based on experience., • Performance bonus: Target of approximately 10% for achievement of established goals., • The compensation structure is intentionally designed to support long-term relationship building and quality of business, rather than a heavily commission-driven sales model.
