Job DescriptionJob Title: Wire Harness Assembler Job Description We are seeking a skilled Wire Harness Assembler to support aerospace production and assembly efforts. In this role, you will build, assemble, and test wire harnesses and cable assemblies used in aerospace applications, ensuring each product meets strict quality and performance standards. You will work from schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints, using a variety of hand tools and test equipment to complete precise, detail-oriented tasks in a clean, organized environment. This position suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, can focus on repetitive, precision-driven activities, and collaborates effectively with a team while also working independently under high-demand timelines. Responsibilities • Assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints., • Perform wire crimping, stripping, and light soldering on cables, connectors, and terminals as required., • Install heat shrink, labels, boots, adapters, and other protective materials to complete harness builds., • Route and secure wiring in accordance with aerospace standards, engineering requirements, and work instructions., • Follow detailed work orders and maintain accurate, up-to-date production and build documentation., • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of assemblies to verify conformance with quality and workmanship standards., • Perform electrical testing and continuity checks on completed harnesses and cable assemblies., • Support basic bench-level troubleshooting of wiring issues, continuity problems, or assembly defects as needed., • Apply quality assurance practices throughout the build process to prevent rework and ensure reliability., • Use hand tools and electronic assembly tools safely and correctly during all assembly activities., • Manage and track inventory of wiring components, connectors, hardware, and tools used in daily production., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following all safety procedures and guidelines., • Collaborate with team members, engineers, and production staff to meet build schedules and resolve issues., • Work independently to prioritize tasks and meet tight timelines and high-demand production goals., • Support overtime or additional hours when necessary to meet project and delivery deadlines.Essential Skills, • Previous experience in wire harness assembly or electronic assembly in a production or manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering blueprints, and detailed work orders., • Proficiency with crimp tools, wire strippers, light soldering equipment, and heat-shrink application., • Hands-on experience working with cables, harnesses, wiring, and related electrical components., • Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain patient and focused during repetitive, precision-focused tasks., • Understanding of aerospace-grade cable routing practices and quality standards., • Ability to perform visual and mechanical inspections and identify workmanship or quality issues., • Capability to perform basic electrical testing and continuity checks on circuits and harnesses., • Comfort working with hand tools and bench tools in an electronics or assembly environment., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team under tight timelines and shifting priorities., • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime when needed.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with electronic assembly and bench technician work, including basic testing of circuits., • Familiarity with avionics systems or aerospace electronics environments., • Exposure to quality assurance practices in electronics or wire harness manufacturing., • Experience reading and working from detailed schematics and wiring diagrams in a production setting., • Knowledge of industry standards such as J-STD and IPC-610 for electronic assembly and soldering., • Comfort using soldering tools, heat shrink, and related materials for cable and harness finishing., • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow structured work instructions.Why Work Here? Work follows detailed work orders, schematics, and blueprints, with a strong emphasis on quality, documentation, and adherence to aerospace standards. The schedule follows standard production hours, with the possibility of overtime during high-demand periods. Safety procedures are clearly defined, and maintaining a tidy, well-organized workspace is an essential part of daily operations. Attire is typical for a production and electronics assembly environment, emphasizing practicality and safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
