American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting on a Labor & Delivery unit, • Unit includes 16 labor rooms, 9 antepartum rooms, 3 OR suites for C-sections, and 7-bed triage, • Handles high-risk OB and routine obstetric care with patient ratios of 1:1-2 for laboring and 1:2-3 for antepartum, following AWHONN guidelines, • Patients include those presenting with pregnancy complaints over 20 weeks, routine and high-risk deliveries, and postpartum cases, • Must be able to circulate in the OR for C-sections, • Expect to titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain meds, • Required to perform normal newborn assessments and routine infant care, • Will float to Postpartum unit and occasionally to the house as a sitter, • Charge nurse available on all shifts; team includes two OBTs per shift, 24/7 in-house residents, MD supervision, and CRNA anesthesia coverage, • Use EPIC EMR system and Obix for EFM; telemetry used during recovery after C-section, • Work 12-hour night shifts with weekend requirement every third weekend (may increase based on need), • Holiday coverage for one major and one minor holiday required, • Surgical scrubs provided as dress code, • Role involves circulating in the OR, continuous maternal/fetal monitoring, and routine postpartum care, • Must occasionally float to Postpartum or act as a sitter elsewhere in the hospital, • Orientation includes 2-3 unit-specific shifts (12 hours each), • Strong teamwork, a positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn are highly valued, • Only candidates residing more than 50 miles from the facility are eligible for consideration, • Artificial nails are prohibited for infection control and must be removed before starting, • RTO requests must be submitted up front and limited to 7 or fewer days per assignment\n \n Requirements\n, • Active state or Compact (NLC) RN license in hand; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing, • Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and Intro to Fetal Monitoring (pending certifications not accepted), • Competence in circulating in the OR and caring for both mothers and newborns, • Experience with titrating obstetrical drips required, • Driver's license required to verify permanent address for 50-mile radius eligibility, • May not have held full time, part time, or PRN positions at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within past year, • Experience with EPIC charting preferred, • Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one supervisor or peer from the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
