Job DescriptionInbound Receiving Planner / Coordinator Job Description The Inbound Receiving Planner/Coordinator coordinates and optimizes the receipt of goods and materials into a busy distribution center. This role works closely with suppliers, logistics teams, and internal departments to plan inbound shipment schedules, align receiving activities with purchasing and inventory needs, and maintain accurate records within warehouse systems. The position combines hands-on warehouse activities such as unloading, material handling, and inventory control with system-based tasks including data entry, documentation, and process improvement. Responsibilities • Coordinate and optimize the inbound receiving process for goods and materials entering the distribution center., • Manage communication with suppliers to plan inbound shipment schedules and resolve delivery issues as they arise., • Align receiving activities with purchasing and inventory requirements to support smooth warehouse operations., • Oversee and participate in unloading trucks and moving materials safely within the warehouse., • Use RF scanners and RF scan guns to accurately receive, track, and update inventory in the WMS or ERP system., • Perform material handling tasks including palletizing, labeling, stocking, and organizing pallets and product locations., • Carry out shipping and receiving activities, including verifying shipment contents against documentation and system records., • Execute order pulling, picking orders, kitting, and general production-related warehouse tasks as needed., • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory through regular cycle counts, inventory control activities, and timely data entry., • Ensure all shipment records and receiving documentation are accurate, complete, and organized to support auditing requirements., • Use computer systems, including WMS, ERP, SAP, and Microsoft tools, to enter data, track inventory, and generate reports., • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inbound receiving and identify opportunities for process improvement., • Implement and support process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput in the inbound receiving area., • Enforce and follow safety protocols and warehouse procedures to maintain a secure and efficient operation., • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and related material handling tools, in a safe and compliant manner., • Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing materials for internal distribution within the warehouse., • Collaborate with logistics, inventory, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support overall warehouse distribution activities., • Proven experience in inbound receiving within a warehouse or distribution center environment., • Strong knowledge of logistics, shipping and receiving processes, and warehouse distribution operations., • Hands-on experience with warehouse inventory control, cycle counts, stocking, and order picking., • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems., • Experience using RF scanners or RF scan guns for receiving, picking, and inventory transactions., • Ability to use computer systems and perform accurate data entry, including use of Microsoft tools., • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software., • Ability to perform material handling tasks including heavy lifting up to at least 25 lbs., • Capability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment, where required., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in shipment verification and documentation., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment and manage multiple priorities., • Experience with kitting, packaging, labeling, and general production support in a warehouse setting., • Experience in logistics coordination or planning for inbound shipments., • Comfort working with KPIs and contributing ideas for process improvements., • Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly documentation and inventory records., • Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, logistics teams, and internal departments. Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment that supports active distribution and logistics operations. You will spend most of your time on the warehouse floor and office, working around pallets, racking, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. The role is physically active and involves tasks such as unloading trucks, moving materials, palletizing, labeling, and lifting items up to at least 25 lbs. Use of RF scanners, WMS/ERP systems, and computers is a regular part of the workday. Appropriate safety gear is required, including steel-toe footwear, and you are expected to follow all safety and warehouse operating procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
