Job Description Position Details • Duration: 6+ months, • Job Type: Contract, • Work Hours: Monday–Friday, between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, • Lunch: 30 minutes unpaid, • Work Arrangement: Fully onsite Work Locations The position requires travel between the following Client station locations: • North Elizabeth Station: Elizabeth, NJ 07208, • Edison Station: Edison, NJ 08817, • Summit Station: Summit, NJ 07901, • East Orange Station: Orange, NJ 07108 Job Description The Construction Inspector will provide full-time field inspection and construction oversight for work across North Elizabeth, Edison, Summit, and East Orange Stations. The position will be responsible for monitoring contractor activities to ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, approved work plans, safety requirements, schedules, and quality standards. The inspector will coordinate daily field activities with the Construction Program Manager, Construction Manager/Resident Engineer (RE), contractors, Client departments, Rail Operations, and other project stakeholders. Required Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience • Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience, preferably involving railroad, transit, station, or other public infrastructure projects., • Strong knowledge of:, • Construction drawings and specifications, • Construction safety requirements, • Quality control procedures, • Field inspection and documentation, • Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, construction management staff, Client departments, and Rail Operations., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to work independently in an active construction and railroad environment. Mandatory Skills & Certifications • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification., • Valid driver's license., • Ability and willingness to travel between multiple Client station locations., • Ability to obtain and maintain required Client:, • Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) / Roadway Worker Safety (RWS) training, • Contractor Safety Training, • Other applicable railroad and track safety qualifications required for access to Client properties and right-of-way. Desired Skills & Experience • Previous Client or railroad construction experience preferred., • Experience with:, • Station rehabilitation, • Structural steel and stairs, • Concrete, • Roofing, • Architectural work, • General civil construction, • Familiarity with:, • SSSWP, • PTE, • Railroad access requirements, • Construction activities performed adjacent to active railroad operations Key Job Duties • Provide full-time field inspection and construction oversight at North Elizabeth, Edison, Summit, and East Orange Stations., • Monitor contractor activities for compliance with contract drawings, specifications, approved work plans, safety requirements, schedules, and quality standards., • Coordinate daily field activities with the Construction Program Manager, Construction Manager/RE, contractors, Client departments, Rail Operations, and other project stakeholders., • Perform daily field inspections and maintain detailed inspection records., • Prepare detailed daily reports and photo documentation., • Complete and submit a Daily Field Report at the end of each shift, as required., • Verify contractor labor, equipment, materials, and quantities., • Monitor work progress and construction quality., • Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies and potential project issues., • Review completed and ongoing work against approved drawings and specifications., • Witness testing and inspections as required., • Assist with quantity verification and payment documentation., • Participate in field meetings and project coordination activities., • Monitor contractor compliance with safety and railroad protection requirements., • Immediately report significant safety, quality, schedule, or constructability concerns to the Construction Manager., • Provide inspection coverage at all four station locations as directed.\nCompany Description 22nd Century Technologies, Inc.
