Job Description Location: Teakwood by Burma Love Position: Assistant General Manager Salary: $80,000 – 85,000 (DOE) Calling all foodies, the passionate, the inspired! Burma Food Group is seeking a skilled Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading one of our Burmese/Southeast Asian restaurants in the heart of Hayes Valley. This role is perfect for someone with upper finer casual dining experience who is passionate about hospitality, food and beverage. You will manage staff, ensure exceptional guest experiences, maintain operational efficiency, and help achieve financial goals. Key Responsibilities: • Operations Management:, • Supervise daily Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) operations, • Maintain health, safety, and food quality standards, • Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized and fully operational during shifts 2. Customer Service: • Model and enforce exceptional guest service practices, • Address and resolve guest complaints professionally, • Identify opportunities to enhance the dining experience 3. Staff Leadership: • Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring restaurant staff, • Prepare employee schedules and ensure shift coverage, • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or corrective action as needed 4. Financial Oversight: • Assist in managing budgets, controlling labor costs, and analyzing sales trends, • Support inventory management, ordering, and cost control processes, • Collaborate with the General Manager on promotional campaigns and events 5. Team Collaboration: • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment, • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers and management, • Ensure alignment of team goals with company objectives Skills and Qualifications: • 1-2 years managerial experience in an upscale finer casual dining experience (preferred), • Strong understanding of P&L management, • Active Food Handlers, Sexual Harassment, and RS certifications, • Experience with Toast, ADP, OpenTable, DoorDash, and UberEats, • Knowledge of Asian cuisine, wine or beverage service is a plus, • Working knowledge of Google Spreadsheets and Docs is a plus, • Quarterly and annual performance-based bonuses, • Health, dental, vision and 401(k) benefits, • Staff meals and dining discounts across our family of restaurants Burma Food Group provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or other protected classes.
