Job Description Johnson Service Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MP&P / Nondestructive Evaluation Engineer for a 6-month contract position in the Berkeley, Missouri area. This position requires candidates to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. This includes an extensive background check (including credit check, all previous addresses, and places of work) as well as a drug screen. Selected candidates MUST be a United States Citizen and MUST provide a DOB (MM/DD) and complete a Conflict of Interest form in order to be considered. Level IV MP&P Engineer Pay Rate: $95.27/hr Contract Duration: 6-months, possible extension Contract Location: Berkeley, Missouri (63134) First Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 100% on site) Job Description / Duties: • Defines requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture of products., • Leads production of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes., • Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations., • Promotes standardization across business activities., • Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs., • Leads development and qualification of new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements., • Integrates new technologies as appropriate., • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements., • Conducts complex analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes., • Implements corrective and preventive actions., • Leads design, development and qualification of sophisticated computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Scope of work/Position Responsibilities: • Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods/approaches, such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical and radiologic principles, in developing new and novel methods/approaches to address affordability and supportability objectives, • Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their use, • Lead development of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes, • Leads development, validation and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements, • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements, • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements, • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements (ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.)., • Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert., • Supports the Team Lead and work statement, assist defining strategies and/or provides consultation. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • 5+ years of experience in engineering, • Excellent written and oral communication skills, • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, physics or chemistry, • The ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • 5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy)., • Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection), • Experience working in multi-discipline teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical customers., • Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics., • Experience with project management tools, • Excellent time management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations., • Active / Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required Education / Experience: • Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
