Job Description Field Service Technician – A/V & Medical Systems New York / NY–NJ Region | Full-Time Quest International is seeking a full-time Field Service Technician currently residing in New York or the NY–NJ region to support customer needs across medical and industrial environments. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $29.00 – $33.00 per hour, depending on experience This range reflects the expected hourly pay at time of hire for this role. Overtime and travel-related premiums may be available depending on scheduling and business needs. Pay Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt Schedule & Hours Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours (with on-call rotation as required) Budgeted Hours: 40 hours per week Job Summary This role provides installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on A/V and electro-mechanical equipment in medical and regulated environments. The technician works independently in the field, representing Quest International at customer sites and ensuring systems operate reliably and professionally. Essential Functions • Perform multi-step troubleshooting and repairs on assigned service calls, • Install, maintain, and service A/V and electro-mechanical systems, • Provide phone support to customers and other field engineers as needed, • Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent service calls outside standard hours, • Assist with parts shipments, returns, and inventory coordination, • Document all service activity clearly and accurately, • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and service quality standards Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong customer service and professional communication skills, • Ability to troubleshoot equipment to the FRU level, • Experience servicing electro-mechanical, A/V, or medical device equipment, • Proficiency with common diagnostic tools, including:, • Digital multimeter, • Vacuum/pressure meter, • Frequency counter, • Understanding of cable media, including Coax, HDMI, USB, Cat5/Cat6, • Ability to mount A/V equipment such as monitors and speakers, • Familiarity with A/V systems, including:, • Control systems, • Audio consoles, • Power amplifiers, • Digital signal processors, • Video matrix switchers and scalers, • PC interfaces and computer-based controls, • DVRs, • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours), • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, crawl, and climb as required, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assisted or unassisted Travel Requirements • Up to 80% travel, primarily regional (home most weekends), • Ability to independently book and track travel and expenses, • Ability to rent a car as required for field assignments Preferred / Bonus Experience • Additional A/V field service experience, • CCTV or low-voltage systems experience, • CompTIA A+ certification or similar technical credentials Why Join Quest International • Competitive hourly pay with growth potential, • Monday–Friday structure with predictable scheduling, • Paid travel and expense reimbursement, • Exposure to advanced medical and enterprise environments, • Clear technical growth paths and long-term stability, • Team-driven culture focused on professionalism and accountability Equal Opportunity Statement Quest International is an equal opportunity employer.
