Job Description Program Supervisor-New LIFE House JOB TITLE: Program Supervisor-New LIFE House POSITION GRADE: 83 hourly range: $23hr-$25/ DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: New LIFE Program SUPERVISOR: Program Director of New LIFE JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the New LIFE Program Director, the Program Supervisor cultivates a therapeutic milieu through a trauma-informed, harm reduction lens. The Program Supervisor ensures adequate staffing for continuous individual and group supervision for all clients in their care at all times. The Program Supervisor supervises the Lead RC’s and residential counselors and plans for client activities and needs as well as staff development needs within the budgeted allocations. Will act as a case manager to maintain appropriate follow-up and progress reporting on client benefits cases, housing referrals, and outpatient connections in concert with the Lead RCs. The Program Supervisor carries out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Exercises full compliance with the Agency's Code of Conduct, all Agency policies and procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations., • Reads and becomes familiar with OASAS regulations and agency policy/procedure., • Maintains confidentiality and security for all client and staff related materials and/or records., • Trains/onboards new staff to program expectations and responsibilities, while also identifying/troubleshooting areas of growth and development in staff alongside the Director of New LIFE, • Facilitates daily programming to promote each individual’s recovery needs and organizes the house space to make programming clear and accessible to all clientele., • Directs and participates in the cleanliness and upkeep of the residence, manages client chore responsibilities, reports needed repairs to the Facility Operations., • Supervises medication self-administration by clients in accordance with agency policy and procedure, reports medical problems and follows medical directives, monitors Medical Administration Record, reports discrepancies to Director., • Provides a safe environment for clients and staff utilizing the Sanctuary Model, • Shares on-call responsibilities as part of the on-call system., • Ability to work flexible shifts, expected to work one weekend day as part of regular work week (Saturday or Sunday), • Employs approved TCI crisis intervention/prevention techniques utilizing accepted practices per Agency policy., • Coordinates and participates in recreation and leisure time activities, • Transports clients to community resources, • Demonstrates, promotes and practices diversity, equity and inclusion in relation to clients and staff through respect and understanding achieved through training, individual supervision and Agency cultural activities., • Develops relationships with each client conducive to promoting healthy growth and development., • Coordinates and approves staff schedules, time cards and time off requests all in accordance with OASAS regulations., • Supervises program needs (Food and office supplies, responds to facilities-related concerns, coordinates care with outpatient providers, coordinates referrals to changes in level of care for clients, and responds to individual financial hardships of the clients withing allocated budget), • Supervises the in-house case management of each client and reports progress and barriers to Program Director Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BSW, Psychology, Human Services, or other equivalent degree. Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a behavioral health field or residential setting. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a behavioral health or residential setting. Skills: Ability to take a leadership role with program staff. Ability to lead engaging groups. Strong organizational skills. Staff development and team-building skills. Creative problem solving. Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Other: Valid NYS driver's license required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The following lists physical demands an employee will perform on a regular basis: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing; Must be able to perform a variety of household tasks, climb stairs, move throughout the group home, work cooperatively in a team environment and quickly respond to emergencies. This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical interventions, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers in order to maintain continued employment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training: the ability to drop repeatedly to knees, twist and turn, exert oneself physically at an intense level, and support another adult’s weight. Position also requires employee to transport clients utilizing an agency vehicle.
