Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager 1 for our client to provide oversight and coordination of programs within a Shared Services environment. This role involves managing projects, contracts, and workflows to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across business services. This is a temporary role that will start 11/10 and should last 2 years. Pay rate is: $45/hr. Key Responsibilities * Oversee programs to ensure compliance with the organization’s Shared Services strategy. * Act as liaison between implementation contractors and internal program staff to address questions, resolve issues, and ensure alignment. * Evaluate, manage, and reconcile budgets; ensure estimated and actual costs are tracked, aligned, and reported in a timely manner. * Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to develop actionable recommendations. * Review and analyze performance data to identify trends, flag anomalies, and ensure reporting accuracy and timeliness, while driving continuous improvement. * Manage the full lifecycle of Task Work Orders (TWOs), including budget evaluation, documentation development, data entry, and purchase order issuance. * Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identifying opportunities to streamline and simplify processes. * Participate in meetings with contractors and stakeholders to monitor progress, share updates, and escalate issues as needed. * Contribute to the success of the Central Business Services team through other relevant duties as assigned. Required Skills & Competencies * Strong ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with accuracy and accountability. * Resourcefulness in navigating complex challenges, developing practical solutions, and delivering value. * Skilled in interpreting and simplifying complex data; able to translate insights into clear recommendations. * Effective communicator with experience building alignment among staff, contractors, and vendors. * Strong judgment, balancing urgency with precision and consistency in deliverables. * Proficiency in Excel for reporting, data analysis, and presentation of insights. * Analytical skills to track metrics, identify trends, and make data-informed decisions. * Experience managing third-party vendors, service providers, and/or contracts. * Familiarity with identifying inefficiencies and implementing automation or process standardization. * Knowledge of lean methodologies (preferred). * Familiarity with project management systems (e.g., JIRA, Asana, MS Project, Slack, Salesforce) preferred. * Strong project management and operational process improvement skills. * Knowledge management and documentation experience to ensure operational consistency. * Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience * 3–6 years of project management, operations, or business process management experience. * Demonstrated ability to manage and implement projects independently and on schedule. * Experience developing and managing projects with minimal supervision, including competitive solicitations and funding proposals. * Strategic thinker with proven ability to align projects with organizational goals. * Leadership skills with the ability to guide junior staff and interns, facilitate working groups, and motivate teams. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, presentations, and professional papers. * Ability to effectively negotiate with contractors and interface with customers, stakeholders, and external partners.
