Job Description Our client is a leading renewable energy contractor specializing in utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. As we expand our 2026 project pipeline, we’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end project delivery from contract execution through commissioning and handover. What you’ll do: The Project Manager will serve as the single point of accountability for the successful delivery of renewable energy projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder relationships. You’ll collaborate closely with the Construction Manager, engineering teams, procurement, and clients to ensure seamless execution. This role demands strong financial acumen, contract management expertise, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and interconnection processes. What you’ll bring: Project Planning & Strategy • Lead project kickoffs, develop integrated master schedules (P6 or MS Project), and define critical path milestones from NTP (Notice to Proceed) to COD (Commercial Operation Date)., • Create and maintain detailed project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost control systems; track against baseline and report variances weekly., • Administer prime contracts, subcontractors, and vendor agreements; manage change orders, claims, and dispute resolution., • Coordinate with procurement to secure long-lead equipment (inverters, modules, turbines, BESS containers) and optimize logistics., • Serve as the primary client liaison, providing weekly status reports, executive summaries, and escalation management., • Coordinate with utilities, ISOs (PJM), permitting authorities, and third-party engineers to ensure timely approvals and interconnection., • Monitor project P&L, forecast final costs (EAC), and implement corrective actions to protect margins., • Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership, including earned value analysis (EVM), WIP schedules, and cash flow projections., • Partner with the Construction Manager to align field execution with project plans; resolve RFIs, design conflicts, and schedule impacts., • Collaborate with engineering to optimize designs for constructability and cost efficiency., • Oversee mechanical completion, commissioning, performance testing, and punch list resolution., • Ensure all as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and regulatory closeout documents are delivered on time., • Facilitate final acceptance, substantial completion certificates, and project handover to operations teams. What’s required: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)., • Experience: 7+ years in project management for heavy civil, electrical, or renewable energy projects, with at least 3 years managing utility-scale solar (10 MW+), wind, or BESS projects from start to finish., • Technical Skills:, • Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, and Excel (pivot tables, macros, financial modeling)., • Strong understanding of EPC contracts (Lump Sum, Cost-Plus, GMP), FIDIC terms, and risk allocation., • Familiarity with PJM interconnection queues, NEC codes, and state renewable incentive programs (SRECs, ITC)., • Certifications (Required or Preferred):, • PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager)., • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety., • LEED AP or NABCEP (preferred for solar-focused roles)., • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and communication skills (written and verbal)., • Travel: Willingness to travel 40–60% within the Mid-Atlantic region; occasional overnight stays required. What’s preferred: • Experience with BESS (battery energy storage systems) and high-voltage substations (69 kV–230 kV)., • Background in design-build or EPC delivery models for renewable infrastructure., • Familiarity with union labor agreements and prevailing wage (Davis-Bacon) compliance., • Prior experience managing projects valued at $50M–$200M+.
