ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Deliver high-quality early care and education to young children by assisting in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities across cognitive, language, physical, and social areas, while fostering positive self-esteem., • Positively interact with children during daily routines., • Assist in the implementation of standards set forth by Texas Child Care Regulations (CCR), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and Texas Rising Star (TRS); inclusive of health and safety hazards., • Support in completing and implementing departmental forms (i.e., accident/incident forms, parental daily reports, health and safety checklist, etc.)., • Track and record children's development of milestones using anecdotal records., • Ensure effective coordination between home and Center regarding research-based teaching and parenting; arrange parent/teacher conferences., • Fulfill mandatory training requirements, including Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Training, Pre-Service Training, and Annual Training, with a minimum of 30 hours each year., • Joins and actively participates in staff and team planning meetings to discuss the execution of Center goals., • Convey information in a positive and professional manner, adhering to NAEYC Professional Code of Ethical Conduct., • Collaborate with staff and supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain a clean and safe physical environment for children (cleaning, sanitizing and organizing areas)., • Assist parents with stages of development and resources., • Communicate center policy to parents. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Accredited, in-person Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)., • One year of experience working with infants, toddlers and Pre-K in a structured facility on a regular basis., • Must be able to understand work instructions in English., • Must have working knowledge of computer programs and accessing internet applications such as Microsoft Products, Google Applications (Gmail), Excel, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer., • Communication skills to be able to work on a team as well as interact with parents in a professional manner., • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, including taking care of multiple children at a time., • Ability to respond to a child’s needs promptly and courteously., • Ability to safely lift children throughout the day., • Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and bending for most of the shift., • Must possess understanding of marginalization and how it impacts those Goodwill serves and employs., • Exhibit respect for diversity of thought and have experience to advance it in teams/organization.
