Job Description SCOPE OF ROLE The Human Resources Generalist performs professional-level duties across one or more manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Generalist collaborates with plant leadership and HR teams to develop and implement strategic and operational human resources programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include employee relations, workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, employee retention, coaching and development, conflict management and ad hoc initiatives. This role will manage onboarding and offboarding, serve as the HR systems and process owner and help provide day-to-day HR support, in partnership with the Director, Human Resources and the HRBP team. Occasional travel to sites within the business unit is required. The ideal candidate will have HR experience in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills, strong communication and critical thinking skills. This position offers a great opportunity for someone to join the team and drive efficiency and effectiveness in the assigned plant location workforce processes and practices while continuing to develop their business partner skillset. KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Partners with Hiring Managers, Human Resources Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition on coordinating recruiting efforts for the plant location, including validating proper approvals, status of open requisitions and new hire pre-start activities and communications., • Ensures positive employee experience by serving as lead in partnering with Hiring Managers to deliver pre-start activities (e.g., ordering equipment, completing Induction plans), orientation, facilitating 30-60-90-day check-ins and supporting identified engagement initiatives., • Owns HRIS transactions in Dayforce., • Understands and utilizes HRIS system to assist with reporting on various workforce data and trends, while managing periodic data integrity reviews and required updates related to Career Framework (Plant Manager tiers, STIP plan alignment, etc.)., • Serves as leave of absence (FMLA, ADA, etc.) point of contact, administering employee leave requests and coordinating follow-ups for employees as requested by 3rd party administrator., • Manages the employee off-boarding process, including conducting exit interviews, explaining payroll/benefits implications, facilitating return of company assets and property, and IT changes., • Act as a resource to both managers and team members by offering support and guidance regarding company policies and practices., • Participates and/or leads first-level employee relations investigations activities, in partnership with Director, Human Resources, Human Resources Business Partners and Employee Relations., • Guide and coach managers to deliver and track all counseling and disciplinary actions to ensure adherence to company policies and deliver a productive plant workforce., • Acts as an employee relations specialist and participates in employee relations counseling., • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 work authorization., • Ensures internally equitable and externally competitive plant compensation practices including current rates, annual adjustments, promotions, etc., • Provide project management and administrative support, coordination, and planning efforts for local activities. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field is required., • 3+ years’ experience in professional level Human Resources is strongly preferred., • Experience and proficiency with HRIS or HCM related systems., • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), • Manufacturing or related industry experience is preferred., • SHRM certification is preferred., • Highly accurate and detailed oriented., • Experience in managing employee relations and conducting investigations., • Skilled at creating and maintaining positive working relationships with the assigned workforce., • Results-driven, ability to work independently and confidently with sound judgment and decision-making., • This position is expected to report to work on-site located in Ballinger, Texas during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional Information Why work for Cornerstone Building Brands?
