Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and changing bed linens., • Transfer and reposition residents safely to and from beds, chairs, and other areas., • Support and participate in resident activity programs., • Prepare residents for meals and snacks, assist with feeding as needed, and accurately record food and fluid intake., • Follow daily care plans; perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures; monitor and report changes in resident condition to the charge nurse; document care on resident records and flow sheets; and report accidents or incidents promptly., • Adhere to safety and sanitation policies and promptly report injuries or violations to a supervisor., • Understand, comply with, and promote all regulations and policies regarding resident rights, and encourage peer compliance., • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and regulatory representatives while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor., • Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges., • Fully trained and capable of serving as a Transportation Aide., • Participate in training, educational activities, staff meetings, and orientation of new peers., • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Must hold current state certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in good standing with the state., • Must be able to interact positively with residents, families, and regulatory agencies, and work collaboratively with employees at all levels., • Must be able to maintain consistent attendance and be willing to work long or irregular hours, often under pressure., • Must comply with all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment., • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation., • Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the use of mechanical devices):, • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community agencies., • Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, bending, stretching, pulling, and lifting., • Adequate fine and gross motor coordination to carry out required tasks. Work Environment: • Long-term care facility setting., • Exposure to residents with varying levels of care needs., • May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
