Job Description Description: We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Product Designer (UI) to join the Product Experience team at SportsEngine. You will design visually stunning, intuitive, and accessible experiences across our digital products, with a strong emphasis on UI craft and system thinking. This role requires close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define the product vision, influence strategy, and ship high-quality work. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for UI detail, a passion for pushing visual design boundaries, and a track record of delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions across web and mobile platforms. You’re a conceptual thinker and creative problem-solver who thrives on evolving design systems, collaborating deeply with partners, and raising the bar for craft through feedback and iteration. Key Responsibilities: • Own end-to-end UI design for core SportsEngine workflows across web and mobile, from early concepts through final production specs., • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data to define problems, map flows, and translate requirements into simple, elegant experiences., • Create high-fidelity UI designs with strong hierarchy, layout, interaction states, and micro-interactions that feel polished and consistent., • Prototype and iterate quickly in Figma to explore options, validate direction, and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders., • Use data, user feedback, and experimentation to refine designs and measure impact after launch., • Contribute to and evolve SportsEngine’s design system, including new components, patterns, and documentation that improve speed and consistency., • Champion accessibility and inclusive design practices, ensuring experiences meet WCAG guidelines and work for diverse users., • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure high-quality implementation and uphold design intent through build, QA, and release., • Participate in design critiques and contribute to a feedback-rich culture that helps the team grow and ship better work., • Communicate design decisions clearly, using storytelling and rationale to influence partners and align on direction., • Stay current with UI and product design trends and competitive insights to identify opportunities for innovation.Qualifications Required Skills: • 3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong focus on UI craft and shipping digital products., • Demonstrated success designing and shipping large-scale, complex products across web and mobile surfaces., • Exceptional UI design skills with a strong eye for visual detail, layout, hierarchy, typography, and interaction patterns., • Advanced proficiency in Figma and a deep understanding of design systems, accessibility best practices, and cross-platform consistency., • Strong understanding of platform guidelines including Apple HIG, Material Design, and WCAG accessibility standards., • Experience with experimentation-led design, including A/B testing, rapid iteration, and data-informed product development., • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities - able to explain design rationale, influence stakeholders, and advocate for users effectively., • Proven ability to partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Research, and Data teams to shape strategy and deliver impactful solutions., • Strong product intuition and the ability to navigate ambiguity, balancing visionary thinking with pragmatic execution paths., • Portfolio that demonstrates high-impact, user-facing work, strong UI craft, and effective cross-functional collaboration., • Familiarity with sports-related platforms or apps.
