Job Description Shift Leader – Lead the Heat at Dave’s Hot Chicken Who We Are At Dave’s Hot Chicken, we move fast, bring the heat, and show up strong—for our guests and for each other. Our Shift Leaders are the ones who keep the fire lit during every shift, leading the team, setting the vibe, and making sure the operation runs hot, clean, and smooth. If you’re a natural leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and knows how to rally a team, this role is for you. Your Role As a Shift Leader, you’re in charge when you’re on the clock. You’ll oversee daily restaurant operations, guide and motivate the crew, and make sure every guest gets the legendary Dave’s experience. You’ll partner closely with restaurant management to execute the game plan and keep standards high—no matter how busy it gets. What You’ll Do You’ll lead from the front and keep the shift running strong: • Supervise and support Team Members, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and service standards, • Assign tasks based on skills and roles, and keep everyone moving efficiently, • Train and coach team members using the Dave’s Hot Chicken Training Program, • Conduct Ops Walks, Q&A checks, and follow up on opportunities for improvement, • Create a fast, friendly, and positive environment for both guests and team members, • Step into any station as needed—taking orders, prepping food, or running the line, • Ensure menu items are prepared correctly while following all food safety and sanitation guidelines, • Safely operate and oversee the use of restaurant equipment (fryers, warmers, ice cream dispensers, and more), • Delegate and verify daily cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen, utensils, high‑touch surfaces, and restrooms, • Handle guest concerns professionally and calmly, always aiming to make things right, • Monitor schedules, attendance, tardiness, and time‑off requests, • Balance cash drawers and prepare deposits as assigned, • Maintain uniform and appearance standards while setting the example for the team Shift Leaders are more than supervisors—they’re role models: • Plan, organize, and execute daily operational routines, • Complete all required checklists, paperwork, and administrative duties accurately, • Open and/or close the restaurant according to leadership direction, • Build trust through honest, open, and respectful communication, • Motivate the team with clear direction, real‑time feedback, and high energy, • Communicate team performance to management and address issues appropriately, • Control costs by following food, cash, and inventory guidelines You’ll crush this role if you: • Are at least 18 years old, fluent in English, and certified in all stations, • Thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment, • Have strong leadership, organization, and delegation skills, • Lead with positivity, confidence, and accountability, • Communicate clearly with team members and management, • Flexible availability, including opening and closing shifts, • Nights, weekends, and holidays required, • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance, • Able to stand, bend, and move for extended periods, • Comfortable working around heat and in tight spaces, • Able to lift 50–75 lbs. ✅ Real leadership experience ✅ Fast‑paced, team‑driven culture ✅ Opportunities to grow and level up ✅ A workplace where hustle, respect, and attitude matter
