NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST FULL TIME MONDAY TO FRIDAY 7:30 AM TO 4:00 PM 24970 Job Duties Schedules patients; orders appropriate radio-pharmaceuticals for procedures. Performs I.V. injection of radionuclides; arranges for prepping of patients. Keeping detailed records of the amount and type of radiopharmaceutical used and of the procedure. Provides quality control to meet compliance of radiation safety. Executes scans according to approved protocols. Decides alternative ways of performing scans according to patient history and cooperation. Attends quarterly Radiation Safety Committee meetings. Provides input and discusses issues. Makes recommendations with departmental impact and assures that the rest of the staff adheres to restrictions within the nuclear lab. Develops policy and procedure within the department as per RSO and regulatory agencies. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions before placing service calls. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area. Provides in-service training for on-call technicians. Responds to patients in a timely, professional, caring and respectful manner. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct. Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements. Education Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program. A state license and certification to practice nuclear medicine. Other Duties Provides patient comfort (e.g., bedpans, blankets) as required. Performs required clerical work when necessary to maintain patient records. Maintains a clean and orderly environment. Informs appropriate personnel when equipment is in need of repair. Fulfills all continuing education requirements specified by regulatory agencies and Medical Center standards. Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization. Position Qualifications: Experience Preferred to have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine NJ state nuclear medicine technologist license required Certification via AART required BLS required Additional certification for CT/SPECT/PET preferred Skills Good oral and written skills. Good communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.
