To protect your workforce, we are at your fingertips: internationalsos.com Job Description The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) safely provides anesthesia to surgical patients for a variety of operations and procedures (both medical and dental). The CRNA provides pain medication and anesthesia care for patients before, during, and after surgery. They administer medications to keep patients asleep or pain-free during procedures and monitor for biological functions of the patients for safe effective outcomes. The CRNA is responsible for routine maintenance and cleaning of anesthesia equipment. In addition, the CRNA may be required to perform additional tasks during the surgical procedure including, stabilization and evacuation as well as managing the day-to-day utilization of the Quality/Risk Management team. Key Responsibilities: • Conducting all pre-anesthetic screenings, including physical evaluations, patient interviews, and documenting all results., • Creating, recommending, and implementing standard operating instructions and practices pertaining to the administration and management of anesthetics that ensure client safety, and privacy in timely fashion in accordance with confidentiality protocol., • Selecting and preparing equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics. Calibrating and testing all equipment., • Prescribing and administering post-anesthesia medications or treatments to patients including medications or fluids to support patient’s cardiovascular system., • Monitoring and evaluating patient’s post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses and reactions, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur., • Deciding, ordering, and or administering pre-anesthetic medications, anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids or blood products as required., • Performing and evaluating the results of diagnostic tests such as radiographs (X-Rays), • and electrocardiograms (EKGs)., • Inserting arterial catheters or arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples and peripheral or central intravenous catheters., • Maintaining patient’s airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation., • Monitoring patients' responses, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output, using invasive and noninvasive techniques., • Discharging patients from post-anesthesia care., • Educating staff on topics such as anesthetic techniques, pain management and emergency responses., • Routinely performing safety tests on anesthesia equipment and requesting repairs or adjustments as needed. Active participation in day-to-day office activities, including a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve procedural processes, obtain approvals, and remain abreast of new developments and policy requirements and regulations., • Active participation in Mass Casualty exercises and events., • Being the subject matter expert of the Quality/Risk Management team managing the day-to-day utilization of the program. Basic Requirements/Certifications: • Possession of a current unrestricted US State license as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist., • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Nurse Anesthetist., • Must have a minimum of 36 months post-training experience in the delivery of and monitoring of all types of anesthesia (general, neuraxial, regional, and Monitored Anesthesia Care)., • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications., • Master’s Degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program in the United States., • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment., • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time., • On call availability is a requirement for this role., • Must be able to read, write & speak English to effectively communicate, • This position is unaccompanied., • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required., • US DOD CNACI or the ability to obtain one is required., • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. Additional Information Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
