Job Description About us LifeSkills was founded in 1993 as the first and only center in the Orlando area that specializes in Sensory Integration Therapy. For over 30 years, our clinic has enjoyed an excellent reputation within the Central Florida community and has consistently received referrals from pediatricians, teachers, and other professionals. Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Practitioner with a specialization/interest in sensory integration therapy to join our LifeSkills family, helping sensory children with sensory processing disorders and related challenges. Responsibilities: • Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients' needs and developing appropriate treatment plans, • Implement treatment plans by conducting therapy sessions with clients, • Help clients improve their motor skills, coordination, and sensory integration through various therapeutic activities/strategies, • Help clients understand their body/sensory system and teach them sensory strategies to stay calm/ regulated/ modulated -Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients, • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding therapy approaches/strategies and home programmes, • Love what you do/love kiddos / love your team, • Always ask for help if needed and communicate with your clinical leaders, • Bring your positive energy/respect/love to the clinic and share with the team, • Be a part of our wonderful LifeSkills family Qualifications: • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program, • Valid state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, • Experience in pediatrics, sensory integration therapy is a strong plus, but not necessary, since we are willing to train you in our approach to sensory integration, • Ability to be flexible with sensory kids to understand their needs during the sessions from a sensory perspective, • Ability to use the computer EMR system that we use (Word, PPT, esp.), • Participation in our weekly case studies and staff meetings to brainstorm on clients ( be open to getting help advice from the others and help advise the others, Q&A's in general ), • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare team members, • Ability to adapt to different client populations and treatment settings( you will have your own private treatment room for sure) If you are passionate about sensory integration therapy and making a difference in the lives of children with sensory processing disorders, we would love to hear from you!
