Job DescriptionSalary: Starting Salary: $50,000/year Job Title: Human Resources Associate Location: Huntsville, AL Job Type: Full-Time; Exempt Reports to: Human Resources Manager Job Summary: The HR Associate supports the HR Manager in daily administration of human resources functions. This role performs tasks related to recruiting, onboarding, benefits support, recordkeeping, compliance, and employee engagement. The HR Associate serves as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and ensures HR processes run efficiently and accurately. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Recruiting & Hiring Support • Post job openings on job boards and social media platforms., • Assist with screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers., • Conduct reference checks., • Prepare new hire packets and ensure all onboarding documentation is completed., • Set up personnel files and enter employee data into the HRIS., • Assist employees with benefit enrollment and eligibility questions., • Maintain organized employee files (electronic and physical)., • Track employee leave, attendance, and performance documentation., • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with document retention requirements., • Help maintain compliance with FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and Alabama employment laws., • Assist with EEO-1 reporting and other HR compliance filings., • Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees., • Support company communication and engagement activities (announcements, events, surveys)., • Promote a positive and inclusive work culture through daily HR interactions. Required Skills/Abilities: • Must be a US citizen and meet any other federal program requirements., • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, • Experience with BambooHR software or similar HR systems., • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements, both locally and federally., • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills., • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines., • A general/working knowledge of MS Office products is required., • Analytical skills., • Negotiation skills., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment., • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization. Required Education and Experience • Education: Associate or Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field., • Experience: 1-4 years of Human Resources related experience., • Certifications (Preferred): SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent.
