Job Description Job Title: IT Operations Manager Department: Information Technology Reports to: I.T. Director Status: Full-Time, Exempt Work Location: Fully Onsite | The Smith Center for the Performing Arts Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 Summary of Duties and Responsibilities The IT Operations Manager oversees the daily operations and performance of the organization’s technology infrastructure, systems, and support services. Reporting to the IT Director, this role manages network administration, cybersecurity, help desk operations, and enterprise systems support to ensure secure, stable, and efficient technology delivery across the organization. This position provides leadership to IT support staff, supports policy development, purchasing, and partners closely with all departments to deliver seamless end-user support and service excellence. The IT Operations Manager plays a critical role in aligning technology solutions with organizational goals and long-term operational needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Oversee and maintain the operational integrity of all IT systems, networks, and infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security., • Working within the budget to maintain, upgrade, and replace existing hardware and software requirements as needed., • Actively manages IT systems and projects, including VMWare systems, Server environment, development, and leads with consultants on any advanced system support or development., • Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and standards that support compliance, security, and operational efficiency as directed by management., • Supervise the IT help desk function, provide guidance and mentorship, ensuring timely and effective resolution of end-user issues with a focus on exceptional customer service., • Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communications, and equipment., • Support the IT Director in developing appropriate Service Level Agreements for IT services and measurements to ensure a high level of service., • Implement and monitor IT policies for compliance, clearly communicating to the Director of IT any needed adjustments., • Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, lower costs, and improve service to patrons and internal clients through technology implementations., • Develop, review, and implement comprehensive backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans., • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent experience., • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive IT experience, including at least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity., • Professional certifications in one or more relevant technologies preferred, such as VMware V.C.P., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA: A+, Network+, Security+ etc., • Exceptional experience in project and time management methodologies., • Demonstrated technical proficiency and working knowledge in several of the following areas:, • Windows Server environments; 2008R2, 2012r2, 2016, • Wireless Technologies Cisco and Xirrus, • Networking/Cisco, • SharePoint, • Information Security Technologies, • Email Security, • VMware virtualization, • Configuring Storage Technologies SAN/NAS, • Advanced Active Directory Management, • Microsoft Exchange/Office 365, • Strong understanding of information technology systems, processes, and governance frameworks, including security, scalability, and business continuity practices., • Experience managing both on-premises and cloud-based environments. To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have: • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders., • Exceptional critical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills., • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment., • Self-motivated and proactive, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve departmental and organizational goals., • Demonstrated professionalism consistent with a service-focused IT environment, including:, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, • Data-driven decision-making and analytical mindset, • Sound professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information, • Capability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server environments (2008R2, 2012r2, 2016 ) and Active Directory administration., • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and related productivity and collaboration tools., • Experience with Azure Entra ID and other cloud technologies., • Experience with VMware or comparable virtualization technologies, including configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting., • Proficiency in network management and configuration, including Cisco-based systems, wireless infrastructure, and firewalls., • Familiarity with data storage technologies (SAN/NAS), backup and recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning., • Knowledge of information security systems, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity frameworks., • Ability to leverage IT management tools and ticketing systems for monitoring, asset management, and workflow tracking., • Proficiency with the ManageEngine Suite of products and services., • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term, trust-based work relationships across all departments., • Ability to deal with a range of styles and behaviors in a tactful, positive, and professional manner. Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits if required by federal, state, and local regulations during the course of employment. The base annual salary range for this full-time and exempt position is $75,000 - $80,000 plus benefits, including insurance plans as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and scope of responsibilities. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by key factors such as work experience, skills, abilities, and job-related education and training.
