Intensive training on front and back of house operations will be conducted. This position reports to the Bakery Manager and works closely with teammates and staff at all levels of the organization. Full-time and part-time opportunities available. The Barista/Front of House team member is responsible for fostering the customer experience and embodying our company values by engaging with customers in a meaningful manner, maintaining facility cleanliness and organization, performing daily food service production, crafting high quality espresso based drinks and promoting sales by educating customers on our unique sourdough products. Our ideal candidate is community-oriented, reliable, committed to continuous improvement, and flexible to work various shifts with various requirements throughout the weekly schedule, especially during weekends and holidays. Weekend availability is a must. Key Responsibilities, include but are not limited to: Front of House Hospitality • Adhere to aesthetically pleasing product display standards to entice customers to make purchases, • Greet every customer in an authentically friendly, proactive, and welcoming manner, • Educate customers on all Proof products, our Mission, and the benefits of sourdough, • Actively build relationships with clientele to encourage repeat business and maintain positive reputation for Proof Bread in the community, • Promote ways to find, use, and store Proof Bread, • Package orders and handle ready-to-eat product with respect and adherence to food safety standards, • Maintain cleanliness and order of customer areas, restock and face retail fridges, and fill displays, • Enter daily inventory for online orders by 7am, • Operate a Point of Sale and handle cash with maximum accuracy, • Close cash register and customer service areas according to company standards and perform end-of-day reporting, • Wash all dishes, sanitize all customer areas and counters, sweep and mop floors, • Prepare leftovers and manage community donations at end-of-day closing, • Promptly report issues to management or leadership Light Bakery Production (Baking): • Operate commercial ovens and bake primarily pizza and cookies according to set timelines and baking parameters., • Top, decorate, and prepare pastries for customer display, • Monitor items for quality control and report any issues to management, • Process, prepare, and label food service products for customer consumption in accordance with food safety standards, • Work in an organized fashion with an emphasis on time and task management, • Consider needs of and prepare for next shift success, • Organize products for daily transfer and accurately complete transfer logs, • Wash all dishes, sanitize all production counters, sweep and mop floors, • Craft quality made-to-order coffee and tea beverages for customers, • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance on espresso machine, brewer and ice machine, • Learn and apply skills in dialing in espresso, steaming milk and latte art Qualifications: • Comprehensive understanding of and passion for sourdough is a plus, • Barista experience is a plus, • Hospitality experience required, • Must produce a valid ID and food handling certification, • Must show 2 years of verifiable customer service and cash handling experience, • Must be good at taking direction, time management, and be a team player, • Available to work weekends and stay until all tasks are completed, • Ability to maintain a friendly attitude and push towards positive conflict resolution even when dealing with disgruntled customers, • Position will require safely using a step ladder (training to be provided as needed), • Should be able to lift 50 lbs without complication, • Must be able to stand for the entirety of a shift, up to 8 hours Our ideal candidate is: • Passionate about hospitality and customer experience, • A versatile team player, • Energetic and friendly, • Ready for challenges, • Punctual and reliable, • Accepting of change and feedback, • Organized and efficient By applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
