Job Description Job Title: Assembler Job Description The Assembler supports production by building and packaging high-quality cases and mid-size flashlights used to protect and store valuable equipment such as cameras and lighting accessories. You will read and follow blueprints and work instructions, use hand and power tools, and perform light mechanical assembly in a clean, organized environment. This role involves working with a variety of components, adding foam inserts, preparing packaging, and ensuring accurate counts of materials and finished products. Responsibilities • Assemble various sizes of heavy-duty cases used to store cameras, lighting accessories, and other sensitive equipment according to blueprints and work instructions., • Add foam inserts and other protective components to cases to ensure proper fit and protection for stored equipment., • Assemble mid-size flashlights on designated production lines, following technical drawings and work orders., • Use hand tools, such as screwdrivers and hammers, and power tools, such as small drills, to perform mechanical assembly tasks., • Operate a rivet machine for packaging and assembly as required., • Perform packaging tasks, including taping boxes, labeling, and preparing products for shipment., • Count inventory and verify quantities of parts and finished goods to maintain accurate records., • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and written work instructions to complete assignments correctly and efficiently., • Lift and move products and materials weighing between 7 and 35 pounds, and up to 40 pounds as needed, throughout the shift., • Use pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines after receiving on-the-job training., • Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of safety glasses, gloves, vests, and steel-toe footwear., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and contribute to a clean production environment., • Work effectively as part of a production team to meet quality, productivity, and scheduling goals. Essential Skills • Experience in assembly, production, light industrial, mechanical, or general labor environments., • Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools, including small drills and hammers., • Ability to read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and written work instructions., • Comfort lifting and handling items weighing between 7 and 35 pounds, and up to 40 pounds as needed., • Ability to perform packaging tasks, including taping boxes and preparing products for shipment., • Basic inventory counting skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate quantities., • Willingness and ability to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as assigned., • Reliability and punctuality in a production or distribution setting., • Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments is preferred., • Familiarity with light industrial or production work, including mechanical assembly and packaging., • Willingness to learn how to operate pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines., • Comfort using rivet machines and other production equipment after training., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy., • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors., • Flexibility to work different shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) based on business needs., • Ownership of steel-toe boots suitable for use in a production environment. You will work with hand and power tools, including small drills, hammers, and rivet machines, and may be trained to operate pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines. The role involves standing, moving, and lifting items typically between 7 and 35 pounds, and up to 40 pounds when required, throughout your shift. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift, offering flexibility in scheduling. Safety is a priority, with safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vests provided, while you supply your own steel-toe boots as part of the required attire. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
