Job Description DIMENSIONS/SCOPE OF POSITION: The APP Orthopedic Fellowship at Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics is a structured, post-graduate training program designed for newly graduated or early-career Advanced Practice Providers seeking comprehensive clinical exposure in orthopedic surgery. This fellowship provides immersive training across multiple orthopedic subspecialties at a nationally recognized orthopedic institution dedicated to education, research, and clinical excellence. Fellows will function in a supervised clinical role with progressive responsibility, gaining experience in inpatient care, outpatient clinics, perioperative management, and surgical assisting while participating in structured didactics and mentorship. The 12-month fellowship includes rotational experiences across orthopedic subspecialties, which may include but are not limited to: Trauma, Adult Reconstruction, Sports Medicine, Hand & Upper Extremity, Foot & Ankle, Spine, Pediatrics, Inpatient Orthopedics, and Outpatient Surgical Services. Educational components include formal didactics, case-based learning, skills labs, and ongoing evaluation with defined benchmarks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide patient care under the supervision of attending orthopedic surgeons and senior APPs, • Assist in operative cases appropriate to training level, • Participate in inpatient rounding, consultations, and discharge planning, • Conduct outpatient clinic visits including histories, physical exams, and treatment planning, • Participate in call coverage as assigned and appropriate, • Engage in structured didactic sessions, conferences, and educational activities, • Complete competency-based evaluations and performance assessments, • Maintain compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and scope of practice, • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and commitment to learning SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not applicable. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience: Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program recognized by the state committee of Physician Assistants and the Board of Medical Examiners. Successful completion of the examination of the National Board for Certification of Physician Assistants. Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree Required in Nursing. Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Tennessee. Must hold and maintain current National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in the English language. Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic skills are required. Reasoning Ability: Identifies and resolves problems promptly. Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Intermediate computer skills required. Certificates, Licenses: Physician Assistant: Must hold and maintain a valid license issued by the National Board for Certification of Physician Assistants Nurse Practitioner: Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Tennessee.
