Job Description MAINTENANCE 1 (PART-TIME) Position: Maintenance I Program: Facilities/Maintenance Type: Part-time (20-29 hours) Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00 (hourly) Location: Albany, New York Job Ref. #: 647 Our Mission St. Catherine's Center for Children provides a comprehensive range of human services designed to offer hope, foster growth, and improve the lives of the children, families and adults we serve. Position Overview The part-time Maintenance I position is responsible for performing all necessary tasks to maintain and improve the appearance, functioning, and operation of agency buildings, property and equipment belonging to the agency. This individual will have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and safety procedures in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, grounds keeping, and pest management. Requirements • High School/GED equivalent is required; some college preferred., • Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described will be considered., • A Clean and Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) is required*., • Significant knowledge in the use and care of all tools and equipment used in performing duties is essential., • Ability to respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls, as needed., • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, kneel and crouch., • Willingness to accept supervision and learn methods of performing maintenance tasks., • Previous experience working in a human services agency is a plus!, • Basic computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Business Workspace Suite; and use secure Internet practices., • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and writing aptitude. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include • Performing general and extensive maintenance (cleaning, painting, repair work) of agency buildings and grounds:, • Moving furnishings, supplies and equipment., • Picking up and delivering supplies and materials., • Making minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs., • Performing yard work, both seasonal and ordinary., • Cleaning rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and stairways., • Performing touch up, priming and finish painting., • Setting up and tearing down of chairs, tables and equipment., • Using hand tools, power tools, gas powered equipment and other equipment to make minor maintenance repairs, to maintain grounds and properties., • Completes maintenance of hand tools, power tools and gas-powered equipment., • Follows all applicable safety rules, practices and procedures., • Maintains a safe working environment by ensuring that all tools, materials and supplies are kept out of reach of all clients and are properly stored., • Competitive Pay with an Excellent Benefits Package, • Insurance options: Dental and Vision, • $600 Well-being Reimbursement Benefit, • Generous Combined Leave Time (CLT) and loads of Paid Holidays!, • $500 Employee Referral Bonus, • We are a 501(c) (3) agency, which is a qualifying employer for eligible staff under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, • Pension Plan with Generous Agency Contribution, • 403b Retirement Savings Plan, • Life Insurance – Automatic Benefit at no cost to employee, • Paid Training, including TCI and CPR/AED/First Aid Certification & Update courses, if role appropriate, • Tuition Reimbursement & Travel/ Mileage Reimbursement, • Professional Development & Career Growth Opportunities, • The Comfort of a Business Casual Environment About Us: St. Catherine’s Center for Children is a non-profit organization located in the Greater Capital Region of New York.
