Job Description Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description This role supports a growing local manufacturing operation by managing all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory control on the first shift. You will handle incoming and outgoing materials, maintain accurate inventory records within an EPICOR-based MRP/ERP system, and ensure materials are staged correctly to support production departments, especially welding and fabrication. Responsibilities • Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments in a timely and accurate manner., • Check and verify received materials against purchase orders or invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness., • Label and store received materials in proper locations to maintain organized inventory and efficient retrieval., • Pick, kit, and pack orders accurately and efficiently for use in internal departments, with a strong focus on supporting the weld and fabrication department., • Enter all parts receiving and material movements into the EPICOR-based computer system to maintain real-time, accurate inventory records., • Prepare, package, and stage products for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements., • Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile variances in the system., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of inventory storage areas, shipping and receiving docks, and related workspaces., • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently., • Use tablets and RF scanners to perform inventory transactions and support MRP/ERP processes., • Handle materials safely and follow established procedures to prevent damage and ensure accurate tracking., • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and other departments to resolve material issues and support smooth workflow. Essential Skills • Experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing, warehouse, or job shop environment., • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems, preferably EPICOR-based platforms, for inventory and material transactions., • Ability to use tablets and RF scanners to perform inventory updates and material movements., • Hands-on experience with material handling, including kitting, picking, packing, and staging materials for production and shipment., • Competence operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts., • Strong computer skills to enter, track, and reconcile inventory and receiving data., • Experience performing cycle counts and maintaining accurate warehouse inventory records., • Attention to detail when verifying materials against purchase orders or invoices., • Ability to work efficiently on a first-shift schedule and support a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Capability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as a receiving clerk or material handler in a manufacturing or industrial setting., • Familiarity with bills of materials (BOM) and how they relate to kitting and production requirements., • Experience supporting weld and fabrication departments or similar production areas., • Comfort working in a small job shop environment where responsibilities may be varied and hands-on., • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
