Job DescriptionJob Title: Pipefitter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter with expertise in the repair, modification, installation, assembly, removal, testing, flushing, and troubleshooting of shipboard and industrial piping systems and related equipment. The ideal candidate must review work packages, including technical information, specifications, drawings, manuals, and sketches, to perform tasks effectively. Responsibilities • Review technical information, specification items, drawings, manuals, and sketches related to the work package., • Repair, modify, install, and test shipboard and industrial piping systems., • Adhere to applicable documents, references, and safety guidelines, including ABS, MIL STD 777E, 22D, 1627, MSC General Technical Requirements, NAVSEA Standard Items, ASME/ANSI Standards, and U.S. Coast Guard Standard Items., • Work independently and read blueprints proficiently., • Install and maintain ships' piping systems, including steam heat and power, hot water, hydraulic, air pressure, and oil lines., • Plan layout of pipe sections, allowing for conformance to specifications, obstructions, and holes., • Cut and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for pipe installation., • Operate shop machines to cut and thread pipe and pipe fittings, including valves, traps, and thermostats., • Bend pipes to specified shapes on pipe-bending fixtures., • Bolt or weld pipe brackets to support pipe systems and connect pipes to fixtures such as heat exchangers, laundry and galley equipment, pumps, and tanks., • Repair, pack, and adjust valves., • Test installed systems for leaks to ensure specifications are met.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in pipefitting, blueprint reading, silver brazing, and marine piping systems., • Experience with bending, burning, and fitting., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work packages., • 4-5+ years of experience as a pipefitter in a shipyard., • DBIDS eligibility.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in fitting and brazing., • Ability to work independently and efficiently.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
