Job Description Paint Line Helper $16 - $17 - 1st shift w/ Overtime Job Description This role supports a high-volume manufacturing operation by assisting with the preparation, handling, and finishing of custom metal electrical enclosure boxes on a paint line. You will work with aluminum and other metals, perform heavy lifting, help with spray painting and blasting activities, and ensure parts are properly prepped and racked for industrial coating. Full training and personal protective equipment are provided to help you work safely and effectively in a fast-paced, industrial environment. Responsibilities • Hang metal parts and components on the paint line, performing constant lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds., • Handle aluminum and other metal materials, consistently moving and positioning items weighing 50 pounds or more throughout the shift., • Assist with spray painting processes by preparing parts, supporting the painter, and ensuring proper coverage and quality of industrial coatings., • Support blasting and sandblasting activities by helping to prep surfaces, manage equipment, and maintain a clean and safe work area., • Perform sanding, grinding, and general surface preparation to ensure parts are ready for powder coating and industrial painting., • Rack, un-rack, and organize parts before and after the paint booth process to maintain efficient production flow., • Use hand tools and basic production equipment safely and correctly during prep, assembly, and finishing tasks., • Assist with general labor duties such as moving materials, staging work, and cleaning workstations in the paint area and surrounding production floor., • Follow all safety procedures, including wearing required PPE such as steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, and ear plugs., • Ability to perform heavy lifting, consistently handling items weighing up to 50 pounds., • Experience helping with spray painting in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Experience assisting with blasting or sandblasting processes., • Experience in industrial paint or coating work, including basic understanding of paint prep and application support., • Familiarity with sanding, grinding, and other surface preparation tasks for metal components., • Ability to work safely with hand tools and basic production equipment., • Capability to perform repetitive physical tasks in a fast-paced industrial setting., • Experience with powder coat operations, including paint prep, racking, and working in a paint booth., • Hands-on experience in general labor or production roles in a manufacturing environment., • Comfort working in a dirty, industrial paint booth and around metal dust and debris., • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces custom metal electrical enclosure boxes and other metal components. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Most of the facility is non-climate-controlled, but there are large fans throughout the site to improve air circulation. The paint area is the only section that is air-conditioned and climate controlled, while the paint booth itself is a dirty, industrial room where dust, overspray, and metal particles are present. You will frequently handle aluminum and other metals weighing 50 pounds or more and work around industrial equipment such as paint booths, blasting equipment, and hand tools. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and ear plugs, is provided, and steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code. The environment is fast-paced, production-focused, and physically demanding, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper handling of materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
