Position Overview: We’re seeking a full-time Technical Support Specialist to join our support team. This position is primarily based at our Brooklyn office, five days a week, with occasional field visits (1–2 days as needed) to assist with installations, training, and on-site support. No prior experience with our systems is necessary — we’ll provide full training. We’re seeking someone tech-savvy, reliable, and motivated, who can communicate clearly, solve problems with confidence, and bring positive energy to the team. What You’ll Do: Provide customer support via phone, chat, and email — acting as the front line of Mtech for our diverse client base. Troubleshoot POS systems, payment terminals, networking, and wiring issues. Configure basic networking settings (IP/static IPs, firewall adjustments, port forwarding, etc.). Assemble, test, and manage POS equipment and maintain organized inventory. Travel to client sites to install systems and train users (occasional light physical labor and ladder use required). Participate in occasional out-of-town, same-day-return service visits (travel expenses covered). What You Bring: Strong written and verbal communication skills. A friendly, patient, and problem-solving mindset. Basic understanding of IT concepts — IP addresses, routers, wiring, etc. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform light fieldwork as needed. Team-player attitude and a willingness to learn. Prescription Processing: Receive and verify prescriptions from doctors or patients. Accurately interpret prescription orders, including medication dosage, strength, and directions. Prepare and label medications according to prescription orders. Ensure the correct drug, dosage, and instructions are provided. Medication Dispensing: Assist in the preparation of medication by counting, measuring, and mixing medications. Dispense prescribed medications to patients. Document prescription orders, refills, and patient consultations. Ensure confidentiality of patient information according to HIPAA regulations. Quality Control: Double-check prescriptions for accuracy and completeness. Ensure medications are properly stored, following safety protocols. Participate in routine audits or checks to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Collaboration with Pharmacists and Healthcare Professionals: Work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to ensure proper patient care. Communicate with doctors or other healthcare professionals regarding prescription clarifications or medication interactions. Insurance and Billing: Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance information. Assist patients in understanding prescription coverage and any out-of-pocket costs. Maintaining Pharmacy Equipment: Ensure all pharmacy equipment is functioning properly, including pill counters, label printers, and compounding tools. Pharmacy technicians play an essential role in supporting pharmacists and ensuring that patients receive the correct medication and care.
