Job DescriptionSalary: Growth Centers of America Position Overview The Psychiatrist plays a critical leadership role in supporting the psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral health needs of adolescents within our residential treatment program. This position works collaboratively with therapists, nurses, behavioral staff, educators, and program leadership to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment. The Psychiatrist is responsible for psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, crisis intervention support, and ongoing collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure high-quality care for adolescents experiencing mental health, behavioral, substance use, and dual-diagnosis challenges. What Youll Do Psychiatric Care & Clinical Oversight Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnostic reviews for adolescent clients Develop individualized treatment recommendations and psychiatric care plans Provide medication management, monitoring, and ongoing psychiatric follow-up care Assess clients for emotional, behavioral, psychiatric, and safety concerns Collaborate with therapists, nurses, behavioral staff, and leadership regarding client progress and treatment planning Provide clinical guidance and support during psychiatric or behavioral crises Evaluate risk related to self-harm, suicidality, aggression, elopement, or psychiatric instability Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and professionalism with adolescent clients Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and clinical discussions Support continuity of care with outside providers, hospitals, and referral sources when appropriate Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough psychiatric documentation, evaluations, progress notes, and medication records Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies Complete clinical documentation within required timelines and facility standards Support quality assurance, risk management, and clinical best practices Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions and documentation Team Collaboration & Therapeutic Environment Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team including therapists, nurses, educators, behavioral staff, and leadership Contribute positively to the overall therapeutic and residential environment Support a structured, safe, trauma-informed, and clinically appropriate setting for adolescents Participate in meetings, trainings, consultations, and ongoing professional development Provide support, guidance, and psychiatric insight to treatment staff as needed Maintain flexibility, professionalism, and composure in high-acuity or fast-paced situations Who You Are You are compassionate, clinically skilled, and passionate about helping adolescents navigate mental health and behavioral challenges. You are someone who: Remains calm, ethical, and professional during crisis or high-pressure situations Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Communicates effectively with adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams Values collaboration, accountability, and compassionate care Understands the importance of consistency, healthy boundaries, and confidentiality Thrives in mission-driven environments focused on adolescent healing and growth Is adaptable, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality psychiatric care What You Bring Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state DEA license and ability to prescribe medications Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and medication management Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance Ability to work effectively within a residential behavioral health environment Preferred Qualifications Experience working with adolescents ages 1217 Experience in residential treatment, inpatient psychiatry, behavioral health, or acute care settings Child and Adolescent Psychiatry experience preferred Experience treating clients with mental health disorders, substance use, eating disorders, trauma, or dual diagnosis needs Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary treatment teams Knowledge of crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and trauma-informed care Why Join Growth Centers of America?
