Job Description Team Member Wanted: Geothermal Assistant Project Manager EcoMech is looking for a Geothermal HVAC Assistant Project Manager in the Atlanta area. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about HVAC systems and green-energy technology and is excited to grow with our cutting-edge company. Our Geothermal Assistant Project Manager will learn and assist across all Senior Project Manager functions including: • Planning and managing the installation of full-suite green energy systems (geothermal HVAC, radiant flooring, solar panels, batteries, spray foam insulation, etc.), • Scheduling, designing, ordering, pricing, purchasing, and troubleshooting high-quality HVAC systems in residential and commercial structures, • Auditing job documents and reviewing with client construction coordinators and client project managers for constructability (this includes reviewing and understanding complex M-Drawings in detail, understanding technical specifications in detail, processing submittals, etc.), • Analyzing heatpump systems (typically six tons and below) and single-phase equipment (e.g., straight cool AC paired with 90% or 80% furnaces), • Understanding and mapping ductwork and gas piping systems, • Laying out installations in the field for residential and commercial new construction projects and identifying conflicts and problems in advance, • Working with the customer (and construction coordinators) to schedule each construction task identifying durations and manpower requirements (tracking progress and costs), • Planning and scheduling the necessary manpower, materials, and equipment to be on site to facilitate a seamless construction process by the dependent teams, • Managing large construction projects and ensuring their completion on-time and within budget, • Overseeing subcontractor and installation crews on large projects (residential and commercial) and ensuring compliance with quality expectations, • Addressing crew needs as necessary and sometimes filling in the gaps to provide a seamless installation for the customer (e.g., the builder, the homeowner, or the building owner), • Ensuring observance of project specs and carrying out the work in accordance with planned times and costs, • Properly articulating and documenting issues with the customer and following through on commitments, • Scheduling appointments as necessary and communicating with the team to coordinate the most effective handling of service and installation issues, • Directing, training, coaching, and evaluating the team, • Assuring contractual commitments to customers are met with the highest standards of quality by ensuring that quality control procedures are followed, • Minimizing the company’s exposure to risk on projects, • Company-sponsored health insurance, • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, • Training and professional development, • Generous vacation and holiday time-off, • Mobile phone costs, • Expense reimbursement, • Career-track path to upper management, • Opportunity for bonus Job details • Salary: ~$85,000 per year (plus or minus) depending on experience and qualifications, • Hours: Full-time (~40 hours per week), • Education in or 0-3 years’ experience in HVAC or mechanical engineering industries working for a licensed HVAC company (or related educational background – mechanical engineering, construction management, etc.), • Education in or 0-3 years’ experience in designing, estimating, and managing mechanical installations in custom homes, production homes, and light commercial structures (ability to review and interpret M-Drawings), • Possession of or willingness to obtain the following certifications are a plus:, • Class I and Class II Unrestricted Georgia HVAC licenses, • IGSHPA Certification, • EPA Refrigerant Certification, • NATE Certification, • Driver's License, • Proficiency in Design Software (e.g., WrightSoft, WaterFurnace GeoLink, AutoCAD, etc.), • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), • Exceptional Organizational & Management Skills, • Written and Oral Communication Skills, • Hungry Commercial Mindset and Sales SkillsCompany DescriptionEcoMech Geothermal & Mechanical is a cutting-edge specialty boutique geothermal HVAC company based in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The market is booming right now as homes and buildings are built and people become more conscious of the costs and environmental impact of their energy consumption. We have a small, close-knit team and are looking to add a new team member who will be the direct assistant to our Senior Project Manager. This is an apprenticeship role for someone looking to learn how to be a worldclass mechanical project manager. The role will involve learning and then autonomously performing (1) technical system design, (2) estimating and scoping, (3) equipment selection and procurement, (4) project management, (5) sales and business development, and (6) administrative functions. We want a true partner who will help us grow this company as a team. We need capable people in the face of the overwhelming inbound demand for our services.
