Job Description Job Title: Shipping Coordinator Job Description The Shipping Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory control in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires a self-reliant, highly motivated professional who can work both independently and collaboratively with the operations team. You will manage shipping activities, customer returns, shipping supply inventory, and logistics coordination while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, and efficiency. Strong math and communication skills, along with attention to detail and reliability, are essential to succeed in this position. Responsibilities • Work closely with the operations team to fulfill sales orders accurately and on time., • Identify, pick, stage, pack, and ship the correct products and quantities according to order and picking documents., • Verify that orders and shipping quantities match picking documents before shipment., • Pick and pack orders following specific instructions to prepare them for shipment., • Coordinate shipments with package delivery companies such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery., • Receive shipping supply inventory by verifying product type and quantity and shelving products in the appropriate locations., • Process outbound shipments, including moving boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, and on rare occasions up to 50 pounds., • Use palletizing materials and operate a pallet jack to prepare and move shipments safely., • Maintain accurate records of all items shipped and received for tracking and audit purposes., • Prepare shipping documents for domestic and international shipments, including packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, technical statements, and shipping labels., • Create and provide shipping quotations to the sales team based on carrier rates and shipping requirements., • Communicate with carriers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment status and resolve any exceptions or issues., • Follow up promptly on any shipping delays or discrepancies to minimize impact on customers., • Purchase and maintain adequate stock of shipping materials and supplies., • Keep up to date with and adhere to key safety training and procedures in the warehouse., • Support the processing of customer returns as part of overall shipping and order fulfillment activities., • Utilize computers and peripherals to generate shipping labels, documentation, and basic reports., • Perform other essential duties related to shipping, receiving, and logistics as assigned. Essential Skills • At least 3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment., • At least 3 years of experience managing and maintaining inventory., • Proven experience with various shipping methods, including parcel and freight., • Experience with logistics and export processes., • Experience with Incoterms and export requirements for international shipments., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders, documentation, and inventory., • Strong math skills to support accurate counting, measuring, and verification tasks., • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams., • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and efficiency., • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility for meeting deadlines., • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook., • Ability to regularly sit, stand, and bend throughout the workday., • Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Detail-oriented and highly accurate in processing shipments and maintaining records., • Resourceful and proactive in resolving shipping issues and logistics challenges., • Comfort working both independently and as part of a collaborative team., • Ability to learn and follow internal processes, safety protocols, and quality standards., • Experience creating shipping quotations and working with sales teams is a plus., • Familiarity with documentation requirements for domestic and international shipments is beneficial. You will work around shipping and receiving areas, inventory storage, and packing stations, regularly moving between sitting, standing, and bending tasks. The position involves handling boxes, operating pallet jacks, and using palletizing materials, as well as working with computers and related peripherals to create labels and shipping documents. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with established training and procedures to support safe and efficient operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alameda, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
