Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – CCU Stepdown (Contract) Facility: Mount Sinai Hospital – Heart Hospital Location: 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Schedule: 3 shifts/week – 35 beds/unit, Avg. census: 28 Submittal Type: Interview Required Position Overview The Clinical Nurse (RN) provides safe, competent, and quality care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice to patients in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) Stepdown at Mount Sinai Heart Hospital. The role emphasizes critical thinking and collaborative interdisciplinary care while applying the Relationship Centered Care model and Modified Primary Nursing. The RN delivers patient care, educates patients and families, prioritizes safe care delivery, and actively participates in quality and safety initiatives. Requirements Licensure: • Minimum 2 years RN experience in hospital setting – Required, • Minimum 2 years cardiology, telemetry, and post-procedural cath lab experience – Required, • Stepdown unit experience – Required, • Ventilator experience – Required, • EPIC experience – Highly Preferred, • BSN – Required, • ASN accepted only with relevant experience and/or active BSN program enrollmentCertifications, • BLS (AHA) – Required, • Post-cardiac catheterization patient management, • Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation, • Ventilator and respiratory support for stepdown patients, • Medication administration including vasoactive drips, • Patient and family education on cardiac care and recovery, • Participation in rapid response and code situations, • Documentation in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal standardsOther Skills, • Charge nurse duties as assigned, • Coordination with nurse management for staffing and supply needs, • Patient-focused, cost-effective resource utilization, • Facilitation of patient throughput on shift basis, • Contribution to professional development and unit-based initiativesFacility & Unit Details, • Unit: Coronary Care Unit (CCU) Stepdown, • Unit Beds: 35, • Daily Census: Avg. 28, • Patient Age Groups: Adult Cardiology patients Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
