WSFSSH strongly supports M.S.W. level social workers obtaining their licensing. We offer study groups for staff who are preparing to take their exam. WSFSSH will also pay for a study course if needed, and pays for up to 2 licensing exams, as well as registration/licensing fees. Once a MSW staff member has obtained their LMSW, WSFSSH will cover reasonably priced CEU credits in order to meet licensing requirements. In addition, WSFSSH will provide weekly clinical supervision by a LCSW, and because WSFSSH is a waivered agency with the NYS Education Department, a LMSW's work experience will count towards their LCSW. Typically, after 3 years of full time employment, a LMSW will be eligible to apply for their LCSW. HKC Staten Island, our 75-acre property, serves as home to three separate children's day camps. As a seasonal organization, HKC hires 90 or so workers that provide maintenance and janitorial services, aquatics supervision and security to ensure we can carry out our mission to provide a safe environment and meet the needs of the camps who call HKC home. Our philosophy for success is to focus on the employee experience and ensure our staff have the training, tools and support they need to achieve excellence. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SENIOR MAINTENANCE MANAGER The Senior Maintenance Manager supports the Property Manager in the overall operation and upkeep of the HKC facility, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance of landscaping equipment, small engines and vehicles, such as ATVs, UTVs, golf carts and trucks. This role is responsible for assisting with landscaping and field management, as well as the routine inspection, servicing, and repair of buildings and grounds. There is a cycle to the work based on the season (winterizing in the fall, planning and deep cleaning or repair in the winter, preparing for camp in the spring, and maintaining in the summer) but there are always regular tasks to be done regardless of the season. Each week brings its own challenges, and adjustments will always need to be made based upon the weather. As a hands-on position, on any given day the Senior Maintenance Manager might be mowing, painting, repairing a vehicle, handling a water or sewage issue, removing trash or blowing leaves and using such equipment as backhoe, tractor, skid steer or ride-on deck mower. See the attached job description for more details. WORK SCHEDULE This job requires the team to work in-person. It's mainly a Monday - Friday job, with hourly workers clocking in from 7:00AM - 3:30PM. During the off-season (September - April) there may be the occasional weekend event. The gear up to the start of camp (May - June) is the busiest time, where extended days and weekend work should be expected as we make sure the grounds are ready to welcome the campers on the first day of camp. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate must have at least 3-years of experience in facility and site maintenance, grounds keeping or the equivalent and in equipment and/or vehicle mechanics and repair. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and/or carpentry, is a plus. Also required is a valid driver's license. Our new Senior Maintenance Manager should be comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions and have working knowledge of painting, general maintenance and janitorial services.
