Job DescriptionSalary: $50,000-$90,000 Imhotep Institute Charter High School (IICHS) is an African centered STEM school located in Northwest region of Philadelphia. The primary goal of Imhotep is to produce well rounded and productive lifelong learners through a culturally relevant program with high student academic achievement. Our underlying philosophy is a rigorous, integrative, curriculum combined with the historical and cultural richness of our African Heritage. Imhotep is a culturally-responsive STEM school with connections to many community organizations and resources. Classes are held at the main campus, community partner sites, as well as dual enrollment at local colleges. The ideal candidate is dedicated, passionate about educating our youth, and takes pride and personal responsibility for student achievement. Requirements • Must hold PA certification-Secondary Mathematics, • Must have current clearances: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting check, • Candidates with coursework in African American Studies, experience in alternative pedagogical development, including African Centered pedagogy and/or community program development is a plus, • PA Mathematics 7-12 certification, • Clearances: PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting, Act168, • Receptiveness to feedback and desire to continuously improve, • Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required., • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences, • Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects accommodation for individual needs of students assigned, • Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP), • Use technologies in the teaching/learning process, • Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing, • Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school, • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, • Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to school policies, regulations, and IEP, • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents, • Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members, • Participate in the staff professional development program, • Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible, • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required Benefits: • 403(b) matching, • Dental insurance, • Employee assistance program, • Flexible spending account, • Health insurance, • Life insurance, • Paid time off, • Parental leave, • Retirement plan, • Tuition reimbursement, • Vision insurance
